I am doing the same! I already started making a few little things for the swap.

I wanted to try a new crafting method for this swap so I wanted to be sure I had enough practice before I sent the "finished product" to my swap partner.

We have this amazing restaurant in chinatown by my house that has the CUTEST little foods on their menu. I may have to take a picture just to gush on how cute they are!

Adorable! I'd rather have a project take me 3 hrs but turn out wonderfully than waste an hr of my life on something that didnt turn out at all. LOL

My niece's name is Emma Lea, but it's pronounced the same way as Emma Leigh. (I read her name on the tag of the purse you made her)

This is awesome! She does still look crisp, even in the heat.

I am going to try my hand at making some wrap skirts in navy blue for my kiddo's school uniform. She has to wear blue on the bottom and white on top.

Your daughter's name is Kit??? That is so cool, my 6 yr old would be all over that. We are going to see the "kit kitteridge" american girl movie this weekend.

WOW, she did a great job!!! I would have definitely placed her! It would make a great halloween costume, and kudos to her for wanting to stand out!

Wow, how cool is this??? I would love to make a similar jacket for my kiddo! You did a lovely job, you say it was simple but it looks very professional and well done!
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Girly Girl Swap Gallery on: July 23, 2008 01:40:21 PM
I have "action shots" at home with my goodies from the lovely Jaybee, but getting to an internet cafe since my home internet is on the fritz has become quite an issue!  Embarrassed

Here are some of pics that the artist herself snapped and graciously emailed to me. I will be sure to add my "action shots" when I am able, my swap goodies were really just so lovely!

First we have a group shot...of all the lovely goodies!

I received an adorable crochet purse, 3 hello kitty magnets, a hello kitty pin cushion, a pouch to hold the magnets, a lovely bracelet, earrings and necklace.

The jewelry, magnets and pouch...the bracelet fit my wrist perfectly and all of the colors really suit me! The magnets are holding up my favorite pics on my fridge at home.

The very elegant necklace and earrings...

Jaybee totally spoiled me! I love every bit of the lovely things she made me and I am so grateful and honored that she used her free time to make me beautiful things.

I dont know about you ladies, but I literally squealed when I got my package!

I was having the worlds cruddiest day on Friday and I came home to my LOVELY package from my swap partner Jaybee! Gosh it is just so nice!

Having internet problems at home, cant post pics from work so I will have to bring my laptop to a wireless location 2maro to post my pics!

Dont want to ruin the surprise, so I will gush about the items later when I can post pics. Cant wait til she receives mine!  Roll Eyes
29  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Re: ooh, a playmobil in my shirt.... on: July 16, 2008 12:07:15 PM
That's awesome!
I had a playmobil dollhouse as a little girl that my mom loved more than I did. She even got an extra floor to add so it could be 3 stories instead of 2.
30  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Japanese Hair Straightening on: July 11, 2008 08:05:12 AM
my little girl and I both perm our curly hair to get it straight

(I perm mine more than hers, shes 6 so its only once in a while cuz its not good for kids to get them too often)

For all of you who may not know, perms on textured or very curly hair makes the hair straight, not curly!

This method sounds similar, does anyone know how long it takes though? Sounds a lot longer than a perm or a wrap.
