1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Cherry Blossom reconstruct on: June 25, 2010 10:44:46 PM
Found these terrible looking old shoes in my closet that I must have worn back in highschool to dances and whatnot, and stripped off all this gunky nasty flocking stuff to repaint em.
Cut off all the straps and put on some new ones, so now they wrap up around the leg.  Also re-did the soles so they fit my high arches with nice fleece-y comfort ^^

Pictures! I'll try and take better ones, but my camera is pretty much on it's last legs. It refuses to focus :/ Nor does my room have good lighting.

terribly dark bleh

2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Phoenix Mask on: June 24, 2010 09:40:05 PM
I wanted to do a piece that wasn't a figurine, and had been debating doing a mask of some sort. Originally I was thinking a unicorn mask would be awesome, but the logistics of making a horn that would somehow sit nicely entirely out of polymer clay......I decided to pass on that for now.

So instead I have for you the phoenix mask! The entire piece is done with polymer clay, just given a light brush of brown and bronze acrylic paint to add some depth and sealed.  The back strap is ribbon wrapped wire.

More Pictures:

I think if I were to do something like this again I would have put wire reinforcements on the feathers, when I was attaching them with TLS they were just flopping all over in the oven. Must have burnt myself six times.
3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 39 ENTRIES / Magazine Wall Scroll: World Tree on: June 05, 2009 11:42:13 PM
Welp, when I finally rushed home to get these pictures uploaded and saw the site coming up with an error message I nearly had a heart attack, but it's working so phew!

This is my first challenge entry, and actually, the first pictures I've ever posted lol.  I made a resolution to stop being such a cronic lurkey turkey.

The World Tree, as done with Sears Catalogues.  ((I also found a mattress topper I want!))

Filling in the blanks.

The whole thing, everything but the original piece of paper is done out of catalogue, including the rods at the top and bottom. I realised I am definately colour blind when tired.

the top

the bottom with the world in all it's misshapen glory.

rollin' it up to take it to it's new home.

Ready for travel!

The scroll is going to be hung up in my mums cubicle at work, which should be nice because she actually works for the environmental faculty at one of my local universities Smiley

Was really fun to get all collagey with the colours, it's something I wish I had an excuse to do more often.
