1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Elastic Waist Skirt Refashion on: March 14, 2013 10:38:42 AM
Hi, everyone!

Last weekend, my aunt asked me to help her clean out my grandma's closet and give away the stuff she doesn't want or fit her anymore. So I did and I also kept some of my grandma's old skirts. They were really long and didn't fit at the waist but since they were gathered at the waist I figured they'd fit me after I cut off the waistband. After cutting off the waistband, shortening the skirt considerably and adding an elastic waistband, this is what I came up with:

2  COOKING / Dessert / Pink ombre cake on: March 01, 2013 04:00:49 PM
Hi! This is my first time posting on the Cooking boards and I'm really excited to share the cake I made with you guys!

Wednesday was my birthday and I really wanted to bake a cake for myself because I really enjoy baking and I've never actually made anything for myself, I always tend to end up baking for other people. My favorite color is pink so I immediately knew that would be the color for the cake and then, after looking at an infinite amount of cakes on Pinterest I decided that I would make a pink ombre swirly cake. And this is how my cake turned out. It's really pretty and I'm so proud of it! Cheesy

The frosting. They're just simple swirls.

This is how it looks on the inside.

Thanks for looking! Cheesy
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Bow headband on: January 23, 2012 09:43:35 AM

So this weekend I saw this post https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=401992.0 and decided I wanted a headband just like it since I love headbands AND I love bows! The only change I made was that I made the bow slightly bigger than what it said on the pattern. I made it yesterday and only took me a couple of hours! Here's the finished product:

And action shot.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Simple ribbed scarf and headband on: January 21, 2012 11:23:19 PM
I finally finished my scarf and headband set I started over winter break...and just in time for the snow! Yay!

The pattern for both the scarf and the headband is super simple. I made the ribbing for the scarf by knitting 5 and purling 5 and for the headband it was 2 and 2 as well as for the bow on the headband. Then just knit the scarf to your desired length...I made mine super long because that's how I like my scarves. The headband is just the circumference of your head.

Pic of both the scarf and headband. The colors are closer to the ones in this pic...the next one came out too dark.

Action shot! Note the little bow on the headband! Smiley Also, one side of the scarf looks short but it's actually really long... I just wrapped it around my neck twice!

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cutsey turtle on: January 09, 2012 01:48:55 AM
Hi everyone! This is my first post in the needlework boards because I usually don't do any kind of needlework and I'm mostly a lurker anyway but I had to post this because it's my first cross-stitch project ever and I just love it and I'm really proud of it so I had to post it!!

So I was at the fabric store a couple of months ago and I saw this uber cute turtle cross-stitch kit and I absolutely LOVE turtles so of course I had to buy it. Anyway, I finally got around to starting it this weekend and after working on it on and off for a couple of hours here's the final product:

Sorry for the bad quality pic. I had to take it with my laptop's camera because I'm too lazy to look for my normal camera. But isn't it soooo cute?! Also, I found cross-stitching quite fun...hopefully I'll start making more stuff!! Cheesy
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Beret with bow! on: August 06, 2009 03:21:46 PM
This is my first crocheted hat!
The pattern was very simple. The hat was made by crocheting in a circle all single crochets and increasing in every round. The bow was just 7 rounds of half double crochets... I used a 6.50mm hook.
Here are some pics!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Pouch made out of zippers... on: May 24, 2009 12:29:32 AM
So, I have a ton of zippers and I decided that i was going to make a pouch out of zippers, now the problem is... I have no idea how to sew them all together!
Does anyone have a tutorial of a link to somewhere that can tell me how to do this...I tried searching here on craftster but I haven't had any luck yet... Thanks in advance! Smiley
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / First reconed bag made from old jeans on: January 06, 2008 09:09:12 PM
This is my first post here in the purses section and I'm super excited. Until now I've only sewn like two totes and a make-up bag and this is my first recon.
Well, I had these old torn jeans and I didn't know what to do with them so I decided to make a bag.
Before (already cut)

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A bunch of scarves on: October 19, 2007 03:49:00 PM
Yay this is my first post with pics!
Well, I started knitting like four years ago, but I haven't really knitted much because I also have other stuff to do and don't have much free time. Here are pics of a few things I've made.
This was my first scarf ever! Its a Harry Potter Gryffindor scarf.

Then there is a turquoise scarf made with fun yarn...

A matching scarf and hat set...

And last... a greenish blue scarf made out of homespun yarn.
