21  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / babydoll dress! on: March 25, 2009 07:41:22 PM
so about a year ago, i found a pattern in interweave crochet [the spring 08 edition] i was nervous to start it, since its the biggest thing i've done, but i was feeling ambitious, and gave it a shot.
and i thought it would be a nice dress that could be worn all seasons with different accessories. i've been working on it on and off since then, and i finally finished it ANDDD got a chance to wear it at my school's senior mother daughter dinner tonight.

the original pattern was from crochet me. its called babydoll dress and its by Amy ONeill
Houck. i don't usually use the same color as the pattern suggests, but i liked it..so i did!

my mom and i at the dinner!

and finally, my best friend and i

let me know what you think!
22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / wooden beaded necklace on: March 09, 2009 06:15:26 PM
basically, i was flipping through a magazine and saw a necklace that i loved. then i had my "aha! i can make this, too" moment that we craftsters are all too fond of.
and i'm an amature in this necklace making stuff, but i made a necklace like the one in the magazine with some beads i was holding onto and had no idea what to do with.

lol, i'm not sure why i look like casper the ghost.
[pasty and frail never fails..]

28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / circle scarf! edit: tutorial added on: January 15, 2009 01:33:29 PM
i went into american apparel and fell in love with their circle scarves. but they must be joking if they think i'll pay thirty dollars for something i can do AND already have the fabric for.
so i made one, like a true craftster.
its a little bit longer than theirs, but i enjoy it.

wrapped around three times

as a scoodie, although i probably won't ever wear it like this.

hope you like it.

a tutorial was requested, so here it is. its super easy so i hope i explained it well.
basically, you cut a long rectangle, and sew the one seam together. the measurements are loosely interpreted, since they weren't really..measured. but mine was AROUND 75 inches and a little over a food wide, which you can modify to your own preference. since its such an odd cut, you'll probably be able to make more than one from the fabric you buy! feel free to ask questions.
29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / eek! do plain hoody patterns EXIST?! on: September 27, 2008 04:49:43 PM
i've been looking for a long long time, but i can't find [or make..] a hoody pattern! i'd like one without a zipper, basically like this:

so if anyone could help out, that would be awesomeeeee :]
thanks in advance!
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / infinity dress measurement help!? on: June 18, 2008 05:18:48 PM
basically, i've been dying to make an infinity dress [here's the link if you haven't seen it: http://rowena.typepad.com/rostitchery/infinity-dress.html]
but im having a lot of trouble with figuring out how much fabric to buy.
here are my measurements, and if someone could help me out a bit that would be great!
[ps: i want to make it with a circle skirt, not in arc pieces or however other people do it.]

waist: 34 inches
desired length of skirt: 17 inches
artpit to boob: 8.5 inches
height: 5'3" [or maybe the pattern required torso length rather than full height, so in that case: 22"]

is three yards enough? too much? im terrible with measurements like this..
