1  Re: the 2006 wishlist gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Antuanette on: February 04, 2006 05:23:19 PM
I've absolutely loved everything I've seen so far.  And I received my VERY FIRST EVER swap
items a few days ago.  These three flower pins are just adorable and I can't wait to go out to lunch so I can wear one.  Smiley  I've already added the large pink one (my favorite!!!) to a ribbon purse and it looks fantastic.  Kristina...THANKS so much for the beautiful flowers!

2  Handgun and Yoda pillows in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Antuanette on: January 19, 2006 11:25:03 PM
Here are some fleece/felt pillows that I made for my two sons.  I love the idea of using a "stencil" to make a design!

I basically found images I liked, printed the onto copy paper and adhered them to a piece of fleece or felt.  Then I cut the image out and used the sewing machine to attach to the pillow front.  They are super soft and the perfect size for travel pillows.

Just wanted to share the DIY card kit that I mailed for this swap!

It has pre-cut/scored cardstock cards, envelopes, patterned papers, speciatly papers, ribbon, twistel, a stamp, fibers, brads, a card layout template, a tag template, tabs, ephemera, and a magic matter in a box labled "~cards~".

4  Lite Brite Lampshade in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Antuanette on: November 26, 2005 12:13:05 AM
I'm not sure why Lite Brite hasn't come out with a cool lampshade with different "patterns" to overlay...I know I would play with it all the time!  I also browsed the internet looking for some type of suitable sustitute for a Lite Brite lampshade but wasn't able to find anything.

So, I decided I simply had to have my very own Lite Bright lampshade so I grabbed an old, stained lampshade and my tools.  I used a hammer and nail to create the holes for the pegs and then used a screwdriver to bore them out a little bit.  Then I just snapped those pegs in and they are holding amazingly well.  I assumed I'd be using some type of glue to keep them from popping out all over the place, but they are sticking in really tight.

I couldn't decide on any specific designs or words, so I just did some basic swirls.  I ran out of pegs so I've already been browsing the auction site to get some more.  I'll be browsing the thrift stores for refills, too.  This is the first of many because I have so many ideas for designs.  I'm a Lite Brite fool, I tell ya.

Thanks for any comments!

Someone asked about painting on the pegs but since I didn't have any type of stained glass paints on hand, I tried some StazOn stamping inks.  I love the effects!  I just basically rolled the pegs over the stamp pad and tried different color combinations.

This is blue and purple...

And SeaGreen which is green and yellow and a little bit of blue...

And Fire with red, orange and yellow...

And I had to try a rainbow one with all of the colors...

The inks that I used...
