Everyone's looks fantastic!  I've been eyeing this pattern for a long time.  Noro is definitely too expensive for my budget (and way too itchy on my skin), so I was either going to use Patons SWS or that Joanns yarn that comes in 800 yd. skeins.  I seem to have one in every color.

Hey!  I made one of these last year for school.  I used Patons Classic Merino and the directions for the smaller size.  I also changed the pattern to be knit flat to give it more shape, and oh boy did it come out huge!

Anyhoo, I'd love to join in.  I have a lot of Patons in hot pink, white, and black.   Maybe this time I'll actually follow the pattern.

In a few weeks I'm taking a quick trip up to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin.  I have found three yarn stores in the surrounding towns (I can't be expected not to look, right?)  So, what I'm wondering is, has anyone been to any of the following shops?  How are their prices, yarn selection, attitude, etc?

Hey, I just started a new etsy shop (Robot *Heart* Squid) since I found out that my other one is already used as someone else's crafty domain.

Anyhoo, I wanted a logo that was a heart made to look like a gear.  After a lot of drawing, I came up with this:




My question, what do you think?  Does the heart look like a gear?  Have I accomplished my mission?  Criticize me!

My first one, Dog*N*Pony*Show, came about because a.) I like the saying and b.) it's a line in one of my favorite songs.

Unfortunately, I googled it and found out that there is another (crafty) site with the same name, so in the long run I'd never be able to buy a domain.

So I just created another etsy shop.  It's called Robot *Heart* Squid.  For the entire story, I'd have to ask my friend, but it's basically an inside joke of ours that came from a comic we used to draw.  Plus it doesn't put a limit to what I can sell. 

Just think of sayings/words/books/music that you like, something that relates to what you make (esp. if it can be narrowed down), take a look at other languages, etc.
