Sorry this is so late, but I'll be there!

My first bamboo sock is nearly complete (woot)  Cheesy

Thursday is nearly here, which begs the question:

Anyone else have time for some knitting in a grocery store?

I started some new socks in bamboo.... I'll let you feel the soft yarn and look at my cool Favorite Socks book if you come. Yes, I am very good at bribing people, how did you know?  Wink

Thanks, all!

queen_gueneviere: Glad to help! Good luck with the pattern, it knits up really fast!  Smiley

Wow. I saw the first pic and thought, "Oh, that's cool he's for on a table on something." Then I saw the second and my jaw dropped!

Not only is he HUGE, he's perfect!  Cheesy

This Rocks!

Thanks for the patterns, I'll have to check them out!

As for the pattern, this will sound dumb, but I knew I wanted to two "ribs" up along the side and I thought that part was confusing, too. I didn't realize until the 2nd bootie that I kind of made it up to look right to me. Here's what I did (I think):

(RS) P 1 row
K 2 rows
P 2 rows
K 1 row

So it looked like on the right side bottom to top:
2 purled rows
2 knit rows
2 purled rows
Top of booties begin

I guess I subconsciously cut out the "twice" part the first time around, but they seem pretty perfect. They look like the picture, anyway.

There is a typo in the pattern in the top of booties section. I think it's Row 10, which should read "k6" at the end, not "k5." You'll know it when you get there; that section's a lot like turning a sock, so you'll know how it should go as you're working it.

Anyone else have advice on that part of the pattern?

Thanks for all of the nice compliments!  Cheesy

jezzyloo: Yes, it is a daschund! The bf will be amused to know there are more! HundHilda is actually the second one he bought me... there is also a black one, Schweinhund (yes, Pig Dog). He insisted on German names. Weird, made-up German names. I like you name, too; so powerful for such a tiny dog!

Legerdemain: Yes, it's all on the blog. But I wanted to note that this yarn is MACHINE WASHABLE! My friend with kids agreed that washable yarn was the way to go.

CraftScientist: It's so nice to do something quick! It was a good break from the socks I've been working away on.

These are so fantastic... quite elegant, really!

I was debating whether or not to buy that book, but I think these have sent me over the edge  Cheesy

I love your hat so much!  Cheesy

I'd be really interested in a pattern if you feel like writing it up. Ever since I discovered cables I'm obsessed!

I know, Beth told me they would be super easy and they are. I still can't believe how easy! And thanks!

I'm down if you are for some knitting excitement! My socks are getting really close... very exciting. It's like exciting excitement... Oh my, it's late.  Cheesy

See you then!

So, I have a new cousin coming at the end of August and since this is the first related baby to be born since I learned to knit, I wanted to make a special hand knit gift.

It's a boy, and the family's pretty traditional (Dad would flip if I knit up something lilac!  Cheesy) hence, the blue. Also, I learned cables for this project (woot!) Details on the pattern (it's free, and not by me) as well as the yarn can be found on the blog.

Now, the fun part:

Far Away Shot (Look at how tiny they are!)

Up Close  (Ooo... Cables!)

On HundHilda (From the BF, just for fun; plus, I don't have any babies around for modeling)
