2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Handpainted mugs :) on: December 25, 2007 02:36:34 PM
Hey all! Merry Christmas!  Cheesy

I love making homemade gifts for Christmas - they're meaningful and they're fun for me too! This year, I decided to paint mugs for my friends. I bought plain coffee mugs from Gordman's - 1.99 each I believe and then painted on them with glass paint. I'm not quite done with each yet - the black and white one needs some touch ups and the pink one is waiting a design, but I was so excited about them, I wanted to share! I then put candies/earrings/coffee/tea depending on personality in each mug and plan to ship them soon.

Enjoy and I hope you all have a blessed holiday!

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Fleece picture pillow on: December 25, 2007 02:18:41 PM
I sewed this two sided fleece picture pillow for my boyfriend for Christmas - his favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals.

I bought some thin vinyl to sew on to the front for the picture "pocket" (even though you can't interchange the pictures cause I sewed all four sides....  Undecided ) it was frustrating cause my sewing machine was acting up, but from far back, you can't really see the stitches! I suppose it's not really going to be a comfortable pillow cause of the vinyl, but it looks good, right?  Wink The vinyl is a little wrinkled - I bought the thinnest because I thought that it would be easiest to sew, but I think a thicker would be less wrinkled and static-y.

So anyway it's pretty self-explanatory. I'm pretty pleased with it!

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Lunch Tray Picture Frame :) on: September 18, 2007 04:17:01 PM
I saw this idea on Craftster awhile ago and finally found lunch trays at Target. I bought a couple and this is how it turned out! I'm very pleased with it! Smiley The bow is just stuck on with tape and the "friends" where the silverware goes is just white crayon and black paper. What do you think?

up close....

in its proper place on my shelf. wow, i need to clean Frida's water!
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Life Map.....:) on: August 29, 2007 02:30:31 PM
Hola mis amigos! This is for lack of a better name, my life map. I made it to depict the things that are important in my life. I love Spanish and am studying it at school, so it's all in Spanish. The heart is torn, but taped. The cross is a rosary ring, even though I'm not Catholic, I love the look of it. Feedback?

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Black and White Picture Project :) on: August 28, 2007 06:04:48 PM
Hola Craftsters! I'm a college student studying Spanish -  I posted this on the home sweet home board, but I think it belongs here better. This is what I call my Black and White Picture Project. It's black and white pictures mounted on white paper and black cardstock. They are held together by split rings. It's supposed to hang, but I haven't quite figured that part out yet, so now it's taped up, but i still think it looks pretty cool. Que piensa? I hope you are inspired!

Paz, amor, y alegria!

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Black and White Picture Project! :) on: August 27, 2007 03:02:12 PM
Hey Craftsters! I've been a long time lurker for well....a long time, probably at least four years and this is my first post because I'm really proud of this wall art. I'm a college student studying Spanish and this is what I like to call my Black and White Picture Project. It's supposed to hang, but since I can't use nails (especially because I'm an RA), I have it taped up. I used black cardstock and white paper to mount the pictures and then punched holes and attached them with split rings. Hope you are inspired! Smiley

Paz, alegria, y amor!
