1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: rainbow hoodie tee on: February 14, 2008 05:31:11 AM
That's too cute. She looks like she fell through a rainbow. I love the long hood but when I asked my 8 year old if she wanted a shirt like that she said no  Sad

I'll have to make one for me instead!  Cheesy

You posted this months ago and this is the first time I'm seeing it! I love the dress. The length is perfect for a Winter dress. Great job!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Kimono style dress on: September 30, 2007 01:45:34 PM
Okay, I know I am about a month late on this topic, but I was intrigued by the dress and the hunt for the pattern and now my curiousity has gotten the better of me.  I can't find the pattern either.  I know the pattern has been discontinued but is there a way to find discontinued burda patterns.  I did the google search but alas nothing came up Embarrassed

Did you try looking on ebay for the pattern? That's where I shop for all my oop patterns.  Wink

How cool is this! My daughter (who just started sewing) was checking out the screen over my shoulder. She now wants to try her hand at one for her and another one for her best friend.

Those are so cute. Are you going to sew some of the fabric on a long sleeve plain shirt so that she has a set? That would be adorable.

I have a post somewhere here that has a couple pair that I made for my little ones. My son's ended up being ginormous and the other pair I made will probably be out grown before its cold enough for Anna to wear them.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Can I use flannel blankets to make kids PJ's? on: September 24, 2007 09:23:45 AM
Thank you! Yeah, my girls favorite nightgowns are my old band shirts and what not... definitely NOT flame retardent  Smiley I went to JoAnns yesterday and all thier red tag fabric was on sale 1/2 off. Yipiee!

There was a ton (I'm talking about 75 different designs) in the flannel section alone that ended up only being a dollar a yard. I bought waaay more fabric then I'll be able to use in this lifetime.  Shocked

I just wanted to say "Thanks!" for all the great comments. These will probably work pretty well for younger kids who have a tendency to kick off the blankets at night. They may be a little too thick for older kidlets though.

I didn't really notice until I started sewing that it wasn't the same as regular flannel. It's not horribly thick, but there is a noticeable difference.

My oldest two want me to make them housecoats out of their old blankets... I'm not too sure how well thats going to turn out  Cheesy
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Who needs ballet shoes?? My tutu... on: September 10, 2007 11:58:35 AM
That's awesome! I love the way the background sets off the outfit.

Just wanted to stay good luck with making all of the tutu's. I'd go crazy after the third one  Cheesy
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Tattered Roses??? on: September 10, 2007 11:53:10 AM
I'm so lazy. I've gotten as far as making strips out of an old dress but that's it. I'm going to try to work on them tonight but eh... that usually means I'll end up doing it sometime next week  Cheesy
10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Winter clothes? Toddler hoodies? on: September 10, 2007 11:51:10 AM
Sorry, I don't have any patterns... I just wanted to say that I've been using the Hanna Andersson and Farbenmix sites for inspiration. I'm making funky (or maybe scary?) hoodie dresses based off some of the designs I've seen on there.

Might be worth a look if you want to make something a little out of the ordinary.
