I think the poodle skirt needs to be brought back into style. I think we're just the group to do it. Who's with me?

I just moved down here too, and so far have found nothing except for the Mutation craft show in Nov, which looks pretty cool. I was hoping maybe some of the vendors might give me some info of where to buy crafts in this area.
87  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Mid-Westernized Day of the Dead hoodie on: September 17, 2007 10:25:13 AM
no, because I got all cheaty-cheaty and bought sequins already on a strand, and just sewed the strand on by sewing every other sequin down.

I drew the skull, cut out a mouth hole, nose hole, and eye holes. I put black bhind the eyes and nose, and then I stitched the lines for the teeth on a white cotton piece, and put that behind the mouth hole. I cut out flowers to rim the eyes. I sewed the bones on first, and then the skull with his black eyes, nose, and white mouth already attached to it. I then just lined with sequins. It was a pretty spur of the moment hoodie. She gets a hoodie from me every few years for her birthday, because its coooold where we live!

Despite only having been to Mexico once (border town) I really dig Day of the Dead art. I fancied up this plain hoodie for my sister's birthday by sewing a very Mid-Westernized Day of the Dead-esque skull on it. I'm too new to put photo's directly in, so please follow the links-

Gracias!
