2  Help painting branches in More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions by ThreadOrYarn on: April 27, 2018 07:59:18 AM
Hi - I've been away from craftster for awhile, but I hope it's ok to ask for suggestions my first time back  Smiley

I started (acrylics) painting not too long ago, and I'm a little stuck on this one. It still needs flowers on the branches  but before I do that, the branches look spooky to me. Any suggestions to make them less spooky?

3  Re: The Awesome Manicure Thread! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by ThreadOrYarn on: May 06, 2013 06:21:47 PM
my wedding anniversary is this week so I put some hearts on the nails Smiley

(Revlon's Iced Mauve and the gold hearts & glitter is Revlon's Hearts of Gold FX)

and since I thought that was a little too distracting to have at work, I toned it down to a French manicure with hearts on the ring finger

(tips are Wet & Wild Spoiled in Pearly White Teeth, the nails are Rimmel's French Rose. The hearts are from the Revlon's Hearts of Gold FX again)

I'm posting this for BlackAbbey -

It's not that dark in real life, but it's the best I could get to real colors.

Thanks LaChapa for posting a clearer pic! I don't know why it came out blurry Sad

I got this great blue zentangle from BlackAbbey a couple of days ago. (It's a little darker in real life, but the design doesn't show as well in a closer to real-life color)

Thanks!  Kiss

7  Foyer re-do idea - fun&quirky or tacky&tasteless? in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by ThreadOrYarn on: October 07, 2012 10:58:50 AM
I have a very small foyer - it's actually the landing of a staircase (about 3.5'x5') that needs a little pick-me-up.

I don't really want to paint it because it's part of a fairly open hall/living room/dining room area at the top and I *really* don't want to paint those rooms with a 14' cathedral ceiling!

What I'm thinking... I found a plain wooden child's bench that's just the right size to fit in the corner at the bottom of the stairs where I leave my shoes when I come inside. The bench is out-of-stock, but once it comes, I'll put that in the corner and put my shoes under the bench so they're easy to get to (it's open underneath) but not as visible as they are now. On the seat of the bench I'm thinking of putting some stuffed toys I have.

So far, so good, right? The wall next to the stairs is a diagonal... I'm thinking it'll be cute to put up shoes/purses/mittens/toys etc on the wall like they're sliding down to the bench. I'm sure I can find fabric with those designs on them and glue them on with starch.

Would that be on the fun&quirky or tacky&tasteless side of the line? (and yeah, I know, the line's different for everybody...)

And a picture would help...
