1  Re: A Song of Ice and Fire/George RR Martin Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by teriyakimoto on: October 26, 2009 08:51:01 PM
I received from Lotuspixie over the weekend.  I was spoiled!  Here are the pics:

Extra cozy and warm Stark House Guard Hoodie.  Fits perfectly. :

Front (excuse the bed head)

Knitting needle roll inspired by Daenerys Targaryen's silver hair,  Beautiful!:

Jon Snow inspired insulated lunch bag and utensil holder. One side says Snow, the other says Crow.  I really needed a nice lunch bag!

Extra items (Daenerys' dragon eggs, Renly's peach, Lyanna's blue rose):

Thanks again, Lotuspixie!!!

3  Re: Favorite Book Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by teriyakimoto on: September 09, 2009 09:09:37 PM
I received from dichotomy yesterday.  Here's the loot:

The books:  I can't wait to get started on these.  Unfinished Tales was on my Amazon wish list, so very pleased about this selection.  Unfortunately I'm reading like 3 books right now + need to read stuff for grad classes as well.  ARGHHHHH!

Tea (I'm a huge tea drinker), Talisman Altoids tin, cute earrings:

Beautiful bed side book storage: which I'm actually using on my couch, because that's where I do most of my reading.  According to dichotomy, the symbol means book.  How cool!  Wish I took a better pic.

Thanks so much for my pkg!  I love my new books and crafted stuffs.

I decided to get off my butt and go ahead and post my pkg pics now.  My amazing partner was goodtimegirl.  Here's what she sent me:

Theme 1:  Math/Teachery Stuff

Coolest clipboards ever:

Stenciled tee, pencil zip pouch, got math tote, & Scrabble tile name plate:

Closeup of my awesome name plate (Scrabble is my fav game):

Extra - Mathletes tee:

Theme 2: Housewares

Smushed kitty coasters & brains mug:

Other side of mug:

Theme 3: Faux Bois (wood grain)

Clipboard, necklace & earrings:

Brooch (already on my teacher bag):

Not pictured: wall hanging.  It disappeared.  Might have been snatched by one of my roommates.  Durn punks.  It was cool and in my house wall colors.

Theme 4: Yarn/Knitting

Handspun yarn & roving (her first time spinning. Go goodtimegirl!), Yarny rubber stamp:

Theme 5: Totoro

Totoro tee, stamp, gigantor teacher tote (extra!):

Thanks so much goodtimegirl!  I love everything.  I'm not sure why you were anxious about this pkg.  It totally rocks.

8  Owly Handlebar Bag (now w/ chart!) in Knitting: Completed Projects by teriyakimoto on: August 30, 2009 12:22:21 PM
I made this bag for the Giant Theme Swap.  Two of my partner's themes were Owls/birds and bicycles, so I decided to tie the two together.  I used some variegated chunky yarn I had lying around w/ size 8s I think.  It's lined w/ an inner zip pocket.  I haven't sewed in awhile so the lining is a bit sketchy.  Oh well.  I'll probably make myself one as stuff is always falling out of my pockets when I'm bicycling.  Hope you like it!

10  Leela Wig w/ Brainslug in Knitting: Completed Projects by teriyakimoto on: November 06, 2008 06:40:50 PM
A few weeks before halloween I decided I'd be Leela from Futurama.  And being the weirdo that I am, I also thought it would be a good idea to knit my wig and eye.  Luckily, it wasn't as bad as I had imagined.  I didn't use a pattern, I just made it up as I was going.  About two days and I had this:

and bonus brainslug:

all together:

for reference:

The brainslug was knit from this pattern -------->  http://www.johnnysstew.com/pattern/brainslug.html  I ran out of time so didn't make the tentacles.  Thanks for looking!
