1  Camera Girl in Needlework: Completed Projects by pandamayhem on: January 11, 2012 08:50:09 PM
Here is my second embroidery ever!

I tried my best with the shading and I think it turned out pretty not bad Cheesy I really had no idea what I was doing, but I learned a lot from doing so. I found this image online and I really like it because I am all for older film cameras.

I used this tutorial to make a hoopless hoop and it worked pretty well! The entire thing is as big as my hand.

The messy back is covered with felt, and I used some rat tail to make 2 loops for hanging.

Thank you for looking Grin Expect to see more in the future, I am hooked!

2  'Welcome home' hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by pandamayhem on: August 07, 2011 08:39:41 PM
I'm in an LDR right now, but not for much longer Smiley I wanted to make something for my boyfriend and I to commemorate it, as well as have pretty things to hang up on my new walls. And I have wanted to try needlework for a while now! Here it is, one of Kurt Halsey's drawings, which I have been a fan of for years now.

I think the boy's neck and shoulder are a little weird, and his hand too, but .. Oh well lol I'm human, I am allowed to make mistakes Tongue

Here is the back. My mom said my airplane looks like a fish. Maybe that wasn't a good part to work on satin stitches heheh

This was a fun project! I finally got to use the fabric that I have been eying for months. And I think I'm hooked, I already bought some more materials today to make more Smiley

3  Ribbed Lace Cowl in Knitting: Completed Projects by pandamayhem on: April 24, 2011 07:26:50 PM
Does anyone remember the Ribbed Lace Bolero (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=181117.0)? I knitted it years ago, but it turned out way too big (GAUGE FAIL) so I tossed it in the closet. I found it again today and I literally could not frog it so I sewed the ends together into a tube and called it a cowl!

I thought the opening was kind of large so I crocheted a chain with hearts for a drawstring, so I can pull it in if I wanted to. Also... it just looks cuter Cheesy

So... Now I know if I fail at a project, I could just re-re-purpose it into something else, instead of accumulating more stuff in my closet Wink

4  ARRRR we be lootin in ye dreams! (PJ shorts and more!) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by pandamayhem on: February 10, 2011 08:48:40 PM
I love my pirate booty pajama shorts (get it? booty? har har harrrrr) so much!

I found this sweeeet pirate flannel print at Joann's, here is a closeup

I also picked up this CUTE penguin / snowman / polar bear flannel

...which I made another pair of shorts with (PJ shorts are the most comfortable article of clothing ever, I think!)

And finally, my first ruffle skirt

My measurements were weird and I didn't have enough fabric so it's not perfect.. I will definitely make more of these, closer to perfect!

5  First pink quilt~ in Quilting: Completed Projects by pandamayhem on: January 01, 2011 02:48:10 PM
I wanted to make a quilt for a Secret Santa recipient but I had never made one before! So most of the time I was winging it, but I guess my mind is perfect for making quilts because everything is so linear and structured, I loved it!

I asked my recipient's boyfriend what colors she likes and he said "pink, green, and black, just not all at once". He probably said it as a warning, but I took it as a challenge! I loved picking out flannel fabrics, I love the combination of the ones I chose that I sooo want to keep this for myself Tongue

The back and border is black broadcloth because it was on sale.

I should work on my measurements because I thought I would end up with a bigger quilt.

Well now I'm kinda hooked on quilts, I want to go fabric shopping for myself.

6  dorm room recon in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by pandamayhem on: July 22, 2010 08:13:20 PM
I've been living in a dorm for the past year, halfway across the world from home, so I don't have my beloved sewing machine with me Cry My hands are itchin for some craftin, so I grabbed a pair of scissors and began cutting up a tee! No before picture, but you get the idea. I took inspiration from this video of Kat Von D: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtEoqwS5urc&feature=related. So easy, so hot!! The skirt is also a jeans to skirt recon Cheesy

I ended up missing a tie on one side so that's why it's crooked, but I'm liking it lol

7  It's too cold outside, I'll make an INFINITY DRESS inside! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by pandamayhem on: January 07, 2009 05:09:50 PM
Firstly, thanks to rostitchery for the tutorial (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=104089.0)! There are so many great infinity dresses out here already, I hope mine can live up to standards Smiley

After about 3.5 hours of sewing, mindless pinning, and more sewing, I have a little black (and white) infinity dress for any occasion! I used the skirt pattern from Butterick 4788 because it didn't look as full as a circle skirt. My straps are 96 inches long (they were 100 inches, but I accidently cut off 4 inches off one so I had to do the same to the other haha). Oh, and the best part. $2US fabric!! LOVE~ It was a lot of fun finding ways to wear it, so here are a few (basic) styles I liked!

woohoo bunny censors! It was hard to get back pictures, so this will be the only one Lips sealed

(left) maybe too much skin for me, but still hot. (right) I think it's a cute look, but the straps kept slipping off me..

I really like the cap sleeves in the center! On the right, I pulled the waist band up above the bust, but my self-conscious-ness says the skirt becomes too short. Still cute, nonetheless.

I started with 4.5 yards of fabric, but I have a little over half a yard leftover. I might make a matching tube top or shorts for more options. I definitely need a few more of these, it was a very quick and versatile project!

8  Nodame's PIANO TOTE in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by pandamayhem on: June 25, 2008 09:52:03 PM
HEY GUYS! After I finished watching a japanese drama called Nodame Cantabile, I fell in love with Nodame and the piano tote bag she carries around! Yeah, I could have bought it, but there's no fun in that. Plus, I'd probably have to pay a ton to have it shipped from Korea (T_T) So I made one of my own!

Screencaps to show the original

My very own Nodame piano tote! Lying on bed and on me to show size (wah! crazy after-shower hair!)

The zipper turned out pretty nicely (sewing zippers still makes me nervous), but that blasted corner!

I lined mine with gingham <3 and pockets

Piano keys = masking tape and acrylic paint

That's all (: It's pretty sturdy, both the outside and lining are interfaced. This has easily become my EVERYDAY bag, I love it! And of course, thanks for looking (:

9  super cute little baggie goodness IMGx5 in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by pandamayhem on: June 15, 2008 10:16:40 PM
HELLO ALL! I'm one of those "long time listener, first time caller" peoples; this is my first photo post! Here's some little baggies I've done in the past, I figured I'd combine them to one post!

Panda crayon purse, FunnyBunny on Tummy cell phone holder, Pandabun drawstring bag! I like to name my belongings (:

Closeup of one of the pandas - handsewn felt on white cotton. And my pandabuns t-shirt that inspired all this!

I like to keep my giant crayons, seeing as they're the perfect fit

Closeup of FunnyBunny - handsewn with felt and stuffed with polyfibre fill

FunnyBunny holding onto my cellphone - I've seen a bunch of cute cell phone holders in stores, but I just can't bear to pay that much money for them!

Thanks for looking (^_^)v I'll be sure to have many more posts in the future!
