11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Pool/Beach party for 14 year olds! on: June 03, 2008 05:12:42 PM
I need a little help! I'm throwing a beach/pool party for 11-12 of my girlfriends (there going to sleepover) and I need some fun activities and decorations. I'm known for my insanely themed parties, and I must outdo last year :] This is what I have so far...

-girls are going to get dropped off at my grandma's house, so we can go swimming for a few hours :]
- My daddy always does fireworks for me too.

that's all I have.

-ice cream cake

- I'm going to get beach balls, and blow them up. Write all the info about the party on them. Than deflate them, and mail them to everyone.
- I'm going to get 5 beach pails from the dollar store and fill them with food (chips, candy, etc.)
- I'll have a cooler of pop in the basement (where we will be mostly)

I mostly need help with activities and decorations! Thanks guys!

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / No wrinkles on a jersey...? on: May 25, 2008 06:17:11 PM
I'm planning to make a dress like this tomorrow:

It will be in a jersey fabric. What kind of seam should I use to make it stretch, but doesn't get all the wrinkleys. How should I hem it as well?

13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Patterns on: March 02, 2008 10:03:22 AM
I went to the fabric store and bought three patterns [99cents each!] but they are 6. 8. 10 and 12. My mom is going to help me get them to my size, but this is all leading to my question.

In womans, I'm a 00, 0 1 or 2. Most womens patterns start at 6, and kid patterns I can fit into, but I just don't like the look of them [most of the time] are there any brands that make smaller woman size patterns?

I don't usually use patterns, I ususally draft them myself, but I've found quite a few I like!
14  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Bleaching? on: March 02, 2008 09:18:36 AM
I want to bleach a ribcage on one of my black shirts, but I have no idea how to bleach a shirt? What do I use, how do I go about doing it? Sorry if this is already posted, but even if you could just leave a link to somewhere that tells me how to do it! Thanks!  Smiley
15  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Understitch on: March 02, 2008 05:57:26 AM
I'm making a bodice for a dress, and it says to understitch it. They give a really poor description of what a understitch is, so can someone help and tell me what it is? Please tell me as simply as you can, because I'm kinda a semi-new sewer... at least with patterns. I usually draft my own.
16  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / 14th birthday! on: January 21, 2008 11:38:55 AM
I'm turning 14 in July and this year I want to have a big fun party! Last year I had a celeberity party, where everyone came dressed as a celebrity and we had a photo shoot and danced and whatnot. We also got a Slip N Slide that was like 3 of them next toeachother so we could race :] I need something funner this year. I'll be having 7 girls including myself there. Give or take one or two. Any ideas? My friends have a wide variety of likes, but they'd be up for anything, and so am I! Oh and like I said its in the middle of July so I'm hoping we can do something outside! Thanks!
17  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Toliet/Paper Towel Rolls? on: January 21, 2008 08:21:13 AM
I know everyone has them, and I feel bad throwing them away! Any ideas of what to do with them?
18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / 1st dress, 1st project post in General ; fixed pictures! on: January 19, 2008 05:56:43 PM
I made a dress today! I'm sick, so my weekend consists of sewing and staying in the house. There was 4 episodes of Project Runway on, so why not make the dress I've been wanting to make! I got the idea from Smarmy [https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=219641.0]but I changed it from a circle skirt to more of a pleated circle skirt. I also changed up the length of the bodice and switched around the bust part as well. It was my first time working with a Jersey Knit before, so mind the bumps, I'll be fixing them tomorrow, when I make another dress with the same materials. Oh, and also mind the unfinished hem. I was to excited to hem it. Oh, and it was made without a pattern.

Be nice, I'm only 13 ;]
19  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Cards and Stickers galore on: January 12, 2008 05:57:39 PM
One of my bestfriends mom is a cardstocker at Cub and Target. At the end of each holiday season, they throw away the cards that no one bought, but her mother asked if she could take them, and now they have 1000 Halloween, Christmas and Thanksgiving cards. She gave me a bunch of them. I have stickers, funny cards, and sentimental gushy cards. I have no idea what to do with them. Any ideas? Smiley
20  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pleated, Houndstooth Mini Skirt on: December 30, 2007 09:00:12 AM
I went to Goodwill again, and came out with this heinous houndstooth long skirt. My friend is addicted to houndstooth and wanted a pleated mini skirt out of it, so I made it for her. The worst part was the pocekts, filled with yellow tissues. We were freaking after we saw that. It was disgusting. So without further ado, here is my friends new pleated, houndstooth mini skirt.
