I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'm a bit desperate. I've been looking and looking for the instructions online to make a flower JUST LIKE the beautiful green one that Alli_Lucy made for Oneredboot. Can you PLEASE either post, PM me or point me in the correct direction instructions for that flower? THANK YOU!

And back to our regularly scheduled gallery...

Hi!  I used a tutorial from Blissed out; you can find it here - http://jo2308.typepad.com/blissedoutknitting/2008/07/hand-made-flowe.html.  The flowers are super easy - a great TV craft.

I can't get over how great all of these packages are!  I love this gallery!

Oh wow, everyone has received such wonderful packages - and I'm no exception!  The fabulous Oneredboot sent me a package that absolutely blew me away.  The thoughtfulness, care, and skill that she put into it are all amazing.  Prepare your wisting buttons!

Everything together: knitting bag, needle roll, coffee sleeve, hat, and scarf.

The knitting bag and needle roll.  I've recently started knitting and have been participating in "knit nights" with my friends.  These will be perfect for toting around my projects!  They are beautifully made and I love the fabric.

The needle roll with some of my needles inside:

Next up, the coffee cup sleeve.  Oneredboot made this specifically to fit my travel mug, which has very strange dimensions.  The yarn is made out of recycled plastic bottles - how cool is that?  We were crafting with two broad themes in mind, "simple pleasures" and "sustainability," and I think she nailed both of them.

Finally, the hat and scarf.  The photos simply don't do justice to these.  They are so beautiful and I'm so appreciative of all the work Oneredboot must have put into them!  I've been wearing the scarf practically non-stop since I opened it.  Both are lovely, soft, and warm - the perfect thing to get me through the rest of winter.  The color is a bit off in this picture; they are actually a richer blue (more like the group shot).

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Oneredboot!

Wow, this gallery is amazing (as IYP galleries always are)!  Everyone has made fantastic stuff - awesome job, all!

Eeek, now I'm feeling swap anxiety!

That pattern is so pretty!  I need to get over my fear and try knitting socks someday soon.

Hello, knitting board!  I'm new around here.  I started knitting towards the end of November, and have quickly become obsessed.  I think knitting might be the perfect wintertime activity - it's so soothing and cozy!  Anyway, I figured it was about time I came out of hiding and posted some of my first knits.  Here we go!

First up is my most recent project: a buttoned-up neckwarmer/scarflette.  I made this using a dish cloth pattern from http://www.geocities.com/love2knit_dishcloths/DishclothIndex.html (the Lacy Zig Zag).  The yarn is alpaca, and it is ridiculously soft and warm.  I'm in love.

That was actually my second neckwarmer.  This was my first (made as a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law).  The yarn is sport-weight superwash wool.  I made it using the Drop Stitch Scarf pattern on ravelry, which is a great quick and easy knit for beginners - definitely a good way to launch into lace.

Another knitted gift was this new baby set, made for a little someone who should be arriving any day now.  The hat is the SnB Umbilical Cord Hat.  The booties came from a ravely pattern that I altered slightly.

An early project was this garter stitch scarf I made for my husband, which is currently doing an excellent job keeping him warm (important, considering how cold it has been in Ohio in the past few weeks!).

Finally, here are a few of my very little, very early projects: a stockinette cell phone cozy, a box stitch washcloth (I've since made more, and I am loving hand-knit washcloths!), and garter stitch coasters, which were my very first project ever.

Thanks for looking!
