11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / red purse on: February 24, 2008 06:04:25 AM
I made this purse from old fabric that I had from  dress I made for a friend. This purse is going to go to the friend that has the dress. I hope she likes it!!

the material is a vibrant red taffeta material with a black cotton liner. I used black Velcro tabs for closers and i put some snaps on the sides because I wasn't liking the way it looked without the snaps.

I used a tutorial on here but for some reason now I can't find it. Of course it looks different because I cant seems to make anything looks exactly like anything else even if I wanted to.

comments always welcome!

12  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Soap Problem on: February 17, 2008 03:57:50 AM
A couple of weeks ago I made my first batch of CP soap and I did exactly what the book told me to do and when I went to check on it to take it out of the mold and let it cure outside of the mold it wasn't hard, it almost looked like the consistency of a grainy hand cream.  if someone could tell me what happened that would be great! and what I should do with it

Hey Everyone I just got back from No Frills for those that don't know it is a grocery store and I found a small jar of coconut oil. I know for some of you out there this isn't a big deal, but for me and those of you who live in a relatively small town this is a big deal. I have been comparing some different brands at the health food store and found that they are all very expensive so when I found this jar in the grocery store I was amazed at the fact that it is only 1.99 Canadian!!! so I thought that I would share my grocery store find. Also I must be on a roll here because I have been on the hunt for lye crystals in my area as well and I happen to come across at the home hardwear store so I am very happy I can finally make soap. I have been researching and looking for ingredients for a long time now.

just thought I would share my happiness!!

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that sells lye crystals in Peterborough, Canada. I have looked everywhere and can't find any. I didn't want to order from on line but I might have to. If anyone has any idea let me know!!
