21  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Re: HAHAHA!!! April Fools on: April 01, 2008 08:20:48 AM
ah - but over in the UK it is after 12 noon and so I didn't think april fools straight away (you should only do them till noon) ..but I suppose most of you in the USA will be just waking up!

Here where I am in the U.S. (eastern part of the states), it's just now 11am so there's still another hour of april fools' left.

Whoa, I didn't realize that (a) if you refresh the page it changes everybody's "hunk" icon and (b) if you hold your cursor over the icons, there's a little message from craftster.

Best. Joke. Ever.

LOL, I cruised the site for about an hour and didn't pay one bit of attention.  But I did think it was weird that all of a sudden there was a surge of 80s "hunks".  Then I made a post and whoa..the Fonz lol.  This is my kind of april fools' joke.

25  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: A Jar of Mini Whimsies Swap (Sign-ups ENDING EARLY 3/30, send-outs 4/23) on: March 29, 2008 08:02:10 PM
Holy Cow!  I step away for a couple days and this swap explodes with 10 pages!

I forgot to also mention allergies in my info...this is my first swap; I was so excited to get my info in that I didn't even think about it lol.

I am allergic to smoke, perfumes, and lots of scented soaps/lotions.  Don't know if that last bit matters, but better to be more detailed than not enough.

My husband smokes cigars and pipe tobacco but never ever in the house and never ever near my crafting items.  Mostly because I'm allergic to his smokiness.   Tongue

I'm excited for partners to be assigned!!!

I live with a kitty.  Well..he acts like he lets me live here.  We'll see who's boss when he runs out of kibble.   Wink

Thanks!  Grin The dino charms are from Hobby Lobby actually.  I was completely surprised to find them.  They are with the other pewter charms but you have to look carefully because the wee dinos aren't grouped together.

I've only been dabbling in jewelry for a few months but it's a growing obsession.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces.

29  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: As Is OR Modified Aunt Martha Stitchalong on: March 25, 2008 01:33:19 PM
What type of fabric do you think would be best for a project this size?  I've been thinking about a beige/cream fabric but I'm not sure on content.

I've never done embroidery this large, it's always been smallish (palm of your hand size) and I've just whacked the thread on any type of fabric I felt like.

But now I'm worried about the weight of all that thread stretching fabric or bleeding, etc.

I'm kinda the same way.  That's why I picked it for a christmas present in March!  Cheesy  I've been exclusively knitting for the past three months so I bet I get a lot of embroidery on it done in a kind of reaction against the knitting.
