depending on what you are doing, i found some pictures looking through my family photo album of us when we would go camping, we would all stand out in front of the state's sign and take a picture... i collected them and photocopied so i would not destroy the originals and made a scrapbook style page to eventually frame and give to my mom... there was some cute roadtrip type of scrapbooking paper at the store that went perfect with it what i was doing...
that's just an idea of what i did with old photos...
here are links to other things i found... good luck!! and let us know what you end up with...

goodwill (http://locator.goodwill.org/)

out of the closet (http://www.aidshealth.org/otc/) -- supports a good cause and they usually have very nice furniture (or at least the one i go to does)

there is also the melrose trading post, which is just a flea market/swap meet at fairfax high school... this has become my new favorite place. it's on the corner of fairfax and melrose and it happens every sunday (http://www.greenwayarts.org/tradingpost.htm)

i haven't been to the PCC flea market but i might go this sunday... (http://www.pasadena.edu/fleamarket/marketdates.cfm)

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Old CD's + Microwave : How to? on: December 26, 2004 04:51:15 AM
- put the CD, by itself, in your microwave
- set to 3seconds,
- stand back and watch the show...
**it will smell funny so open a window or door and it may be hot so let it cool before handling...

i've never made jewelry out of CD's this way, but i have put CD's in microwaves many times and i don't think it's harmful... MAYBE the fumes afterwards, but i have no idea...

good luck!!
