221  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Bunting and dolls made with baby clothes :) on: June 05, 2010 03:12:41 PM
I made a memory quilt (found in quilting section) with my daughter's baby clothes, and had some left-overs so I made this to hang over her bed. Both the dolls and her name bunting are made with the remnants Smiley It's for her third birthday which is coming up in the next couple of weeks!

222  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / tiny little dolly... on: June 05, 2010 05:18:02 AM
I based this off some little dolls from Martha Stewart's Fabric Encyclopedia. I plan on making a bunting with these little girls on the ends, for my daughter's room. I'm using fabrics from her baby clothes (the left-overs from the Memory quilt that I finished last week).
223  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Baby clothes quilt - my first quilt! (pic heavy) on: June 03, 2010 05:40:18 AM
My mom and I have been toiling away for the past week trying to get this started and finished for my daughter's upcoming third birthday. I did all sorts of hand-embroidered embellishments on it. I kept in the gatherings for where the dresses flare out, and ruffles on dresses, traced her hand and embroidered her age on it...we are just so proud!!!!! I'm so happy to have done something like this for her. It fits a twin bed.

224  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Gypsy Woman - Make a Wish on: May 27, 2010 09:54:39 AM
What started out as a rescued piece of wood and newspaper became this Gypsy Woman. She's adorned with vintage jewelry that I found at thrift stores and modeled with newspaper and plaster of paris strips. She's extremely mixed media because I like to believe that old Gypsy fortune tellers were very ecclectic. She's a piece of wall art that doubles as a wishing well...

225  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My Mama made a Mushroom on: May 26, 2010 07:14:44 PM
Cute lil thing, isn't he? She never wants to post pics of any of her work, but I wanted to show it off for her.

He's papier mache, homemade paper pulp, and mixed media. Around 7.5" tall.

226  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 3D dragonfly wall art ****DREAM**** on: May 26, 2010 05:32:18 PM
I'm big on texture (as most of you know) and on sculpture as well. I really like to combine the two as often as possible. This 8x11.5" dragonfly art is made out of a plank of wood (found in someone's garbage...I have no shame), some plaster of paris gauze strips (is that what they're called??), spackle, paint, and a whole lot of glitter! I'll be drilling a hole in the back for hanging Smiley

227  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Turning plastic lids into art frames... on: May 25, 2010 01:27:51 PM
I looked at this black plastic lid,  lying in a heap on my craft room floor and thought...FRAME! So here's a a little sketch framed in a lid. I just wrapped it in ribbon and adorned it with buttons. It was simple, and didn't make a whole big mess...which is something unusual for me.

228  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Gone fishin' - a birthday prezzie for my pops on: May 17, 2010 08:16:33 PM
My dad's the guy who can buy himself anything he wants, so he's hard to buy for...therefor I make him things. Here's a papier mache fish. He has a newspaper ball armature and is detailed with drywall compound. Kinda slapped together. I just used a stick as a fishing rod and some wire for the hook with a polymer worm. Hope he likes him! He's got hooks on his back and the fishing rod also has hooks. He's for hanging at our cottage.

229  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Wedding shoot I did...just a couple fun pics on: May 01, 2010 06:49:23 AM
I was asked to shoot a wedding. Here are a couple pics I took. They're fun. My couple was very playful which made the shoot a LOT more enjoyable!

230  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Whew (wipes sweat from forehead) - it's DONE! on: April 28, 2010 12:13:53 PM
Here's another mixed media piece. Lots and lots of glorious texture. Even has  real jewels in the hair band.

Thanks for looking!
