I've been MIA but I've beeb probably more creative than I've ever been in my life. Ive been creating 24/7 for the past year or more it seems.

Here's my latest. A portrait
Of my daughter. 11x14" watercolour on watercour paper Smiley
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My recent watercolour portraits (somewhat pic heavy) on: March 22, 2017 09:57:49 AM
Some of the work I've done within the last couple of days. I've been so busy making dolls and I haven't had time to paint, so I managed to squeeze these in and had a lot of fun! The three kids are all my kids when they were about 1.5 years old, and the family portrait is a gift for the husband Smiley.

Thanks for looking!

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Burly bearded men dolls! on: January 19, 2017 03:46:34 PM
Lol I decided I needed to make some burly men dolls. I'm always making feminine things...I needed to balance it out a bit. So here are my burly men 😂 They stand about 9" tall-isn?
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Art journal page on: January 06, 2017 10:58:46 AM
I art journal every day. It's probably the most valuable thing I do as an artist. I learn so much and learn a little more every day to loosen up and just enjoy the process. Does anyone else art journal?
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Huge woodland painting! on: January 03, 2017 08:48:15 AM
My first painting of the new year. All about new beginnings. It's about 2.25 x3.25'. Acrylic on stretched canvas. It will be hanging in my hallway Smiley
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia and his guitar Tiger on: December 15, 2016 10:28:50 AM
Another custom request. I just love all the random things people are asking of me this holiday season! I TOTALLY enjoyed making Mr. Garcia. I think I fell a little bit in love with that cool, quirky old guy. Smiley

He's 100% my design from the body to the clothes to the guitar. The grateful dead bear was hand painted.

Hope you enjoy!

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Massive octopus plush! on: December 13, 2016 02:22:18 PM
I had someone ask me to make this as a gift for her daughter for Christmas. Well, she asked for a body pillow. In my head, this was what she wanted. When all of a sudden I panicked and thought, "OMG! I've totally run away with this! This is totally not what she wanted!" She assured me, with glee, that this was exactly what she wanted and she is soooooo beyond excited to give it to her.

This octo probably weighs 10-12 lbs with all the stuffing and fabric. I had a lot of fun designing it. I scoured pinterest for patterns but couldn't find one that worked, so I looked at how other patterns were created and i used them loosely for my pattern drafting! I then decided that he needed a sailor hat and an  eye patch. I also decided that he definitely needed veiny eyes lol. I'm not naming the little (big) guy. I will leave that to the recipient Smiley

I used a heavy weight denim with a fuchsia sparkly strand throughout and then minky for his underside. Everything painted was done with a combination of textile medium and craft paint!

I hope you like him!

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ornaments and a Doll on: December 01, 2016 11:32:16 AM
I've been on a doll/toy/ornament making spree lately. The heads and snowman are ornaments and the full body guy is a toy to put in my daughter's advent calendar! I designed them all then sewed them and painted  them! I used acrylic paints and textile medium to paint them Smiley
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / And yet another Christmas countdown calendar lol on: November 22, 2016 12:31:15 PM
I made this one an 'old school Christmas' calendar! This one is bigger. 16x16" made with wood I collected from the scrap like at a nearby hardware store. I like how the tree glows! And you can't tell, but all the big bulbs and the lettering are flooded with irridescent glitter!
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Reindeer Christmas countdown calendar on: November 20, 2016 03:36:20 PM
ever since I made the first Santa countdown calendar, people have been placing orders like crazy. I have done 9 Santa calendars but this person requested a rustic reindeer.  I'm so happy with how it turned out Smiley
