11  Massive octopus plush! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: December 13, 2016 02:22:18 PM
I had someone ask me to make this as a gift for her daughter for Christmas. Well, she asked for a body pillow. In my head, this was what she wanted. When all of a sudden I panicked and thought, "OMG! I've totally run away with this! This is totally not what she wanted!" She assured me, with glee, that this was exactly what she wanted and she is soooooo beyond excited to give it to her.

This octo probably weighs 10-12 lbs with all the stuffing and fabric. I had a lot of fun designing it. I scoured pinterest for patterns but couldn't find one that worked, so I looked at how other patterns were created and i used them loosely for my pattern drafting! I then decided that he needed a sailor hat and an  eye patch. I also decided that he definitely needed veiny eyes lol. I'm not naming the little (big) guy. I will leave that to the recipient Smiley

I used a heavy weight denim with a fuchsia sparkly strand throughout and then minky for his underside. Everything painted was done with a combination of textile medium and craft paint!

I hope you like him!

I've been on a doll/toy/ornament making spree lately. The heads and snowman are ornaments and the full body guy is a toy to put in my daughter's advent calendar! I designed them all then sewed them and painted  them! I used acrylic paints and textile medium to paint them Smiley

13  And yet another Christmas countdown calendar lol in Winter Holidays by FoxyBlue on: November 22, 2016 12:31:15 PM
I made this one an 'old school Christmas' calendar! This one is bigger. 16x16" made with wood I collected from the scrap like at a nearby hardware store. I like how the tree glows! And you can't tell, but all the big bulbs and the lettering are flooded with irridescent glitter!

16   Commissioned wolf purse for 7 year old girl in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by FoxyBlue on: November 12, 2016 05:03:27 PM
My friend couldn't find anything for her niece that had Wolves on it...so she asked me to make one. Her niece is obsessed with Wolves. It's a little lined purse with a vintage lace moon, a wolf that I hand painted and appliqud, and a pretty rose that I sewed by just flipping the fabric as I turned the corners. Turns out she's super happy with it and is super pumped to give it to her niece for Christmas. So, in the end, I'm a happy girl  Wink

17  Custom elf on the shelf siblings! in Winter Holidays by FoxyBlue on: November 10, 2016 12:06:03 PM
I had someone reach out to me and ask me to make them some elves on the shelves (?) for her three kids and these were the outcomes! They stand about 9" tall. They have button-jointed arms and are full poseable by way of wire in their limbs.

All designs are my own

For the second year in a row, my friend and i have gotten together to get Christmas crafting! This year it was countdown to Christmas signs. I've been a fan of the 'Coca-Cola' style Santa forever so I win with that as my theme. Pretty happy with how he turned out. I like things to be magical for my kids...Santa and glitter are good for that  Grin

I've made 10 dolls in the last few weeks. They've been all different sizes, but I've discovered that I like these tiny 8.5" ones the most. All designs and patterns are my own Smiley
