3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / my xmas tree on: December 21, 2007 12:24:23 PM
let me know if this isn't the right place to post this:

i sewed felt balls with foam cores in brown, green, ivory & dark red. you can see them here on the tree complete (w/o and w/flash):

i cut up a silk poinsetta bush and lined the petals with gold leaf pen and wrapped foam balls in ivory & gold pipe cleaners.

i wrapped foam balls (see a pattern here?) in wide green glitter ribbon and tied the ends with red and gold tinsel pipe cleaners. they kinda look like giant candies.

i also made the tree topper by gluing dark red tulle to a golden glitter apple in honor of Her Lady ov Discord.

the Tree also features gold plastic balls, gold glitter snowflakes, pearl strands, big green jingle bells, dark red glittery gifts & ivory and gold wired ribbon. its sort of pet friendly so my cat won't end up with broken glass in her paws. that was my main concern as this is her first tree since she was a wee kitten (she is 11 pounds of muscle now) and i wanted soft and lightweight ornaments until i know she can be trusted not to bring the whole rig down on her fat cat-head.
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: 2007 Completed Costumes Scrapbook! (completed project pictures & links go he on: November 30, 2007 08:10:11 PM
this year, i was "virgin mary baby jesus miscarriage." it was that kind of a costume party.

immaculate heart detail:

my costume:
three store bed sheets *new purchase $9
five giant dollar store roses *new purchase $5
craft foam - in stock
rose buds - in stock
tulle - in stock
metallic pipe cleaners - in stock
gold spray paint - in stock

my papier-mache baby jesus:
pearl white balloons *new purchase $1
peach crepe streamers *new purchase $1
black pompoms - in stock
pink felt - in stock

in the end i couldn't go through with soaking myself and my wee bebe with fake blood so that costume wasn't totally complete.

took me < $16 and about 7 hours to make from start to finish with not too many breaks.
