3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / wholesale section of website? on: July 15, 2006 08:11:42 AM
Hi guys,

I just launched my website recently. When selling in shops I sell sale or return as a lot of the stuff is one-offs. I would prefer to do wholesale and thought about having a wholesale section of the website just for shops. So they have a username and password to get into it and everythings that available for wholesale is in there and operates like a normal shop - so they add to basket what they want but the price is the wholesale price. i really dont wanna have to fork out more money to pay my web man to do it - does anyone have any idea how i do it myself or is it a bit more complicated than that!?

Sure I'm seeing my mum tonight so I'll ask her then! i think it's on chapeltown road if I remember correctly so a bit out of town which has its drawbacks.

One of my friends does a stall at the corn ex - I don't think its that hard to get a stall there these days - but you do have to get your stuff vetted. I think emails often get ignored! you should ring them or we should both pop in to see them!  A lot of people have left the corn ex saying its not like it used to be there (I think thats retail in general though!). however they blame all the moshers that stand outside saying it puts people off coming inside and people think its all just mosher/emo stuff in there - they've even had mediation sessions with them to try get them to stand round the back instead of the front but they wont so now the police stand there with them all saturday. But Granary Wharf is no better! When i was in 6th form I used to work down there running a stall for someone on the weekend and it just got quieter and quieter. It used to be amazinig, especially on a Sunday it was absolutley packed full of people and stalls it was briliiant but people stopped going there and one by one the businesses closed down and moved on. I dont know what it's like thesedays but I don't think it could have picked up that much! I might go down and have a look next time I'm in town.

ou i'd be interested - I'm just over in Leeds! My friend and I set up a trendy fashion market in Newcastle and did it on the terrace of a bar - the bar didn't charge us anything and even paid for the promotions to be done. Has the person said anything about charging? Not having to pay for the stall at the newcastle one was such a relief - especially in the early days as these things take time to build up and none of us had to stress about making the costs back as there werent any! Looking forward to hearing more details! Charlotte.
