Excuse my late picture post! I got this lovely package from misscrafty.

Two lovely mugrugs, some stickers and a Canada flag Smiley

And here it is in use with a glass of nice ceylon tea Smiley I think the button was a really nice touch, and I love the rainbow fabric. I use my new mug rugs all the time!

Details of swap:
Are you always busy and so haven't swapped for a while? Too busy with other aspects of life to take on a larger swap? Do you like crafting quick things? Do you need a low stress swap right now? If yes, this swap is for you! This swap is for one item or set of items. You can send anything you think your partner would like. The only condition is that you take the maximum of an hour to craft your goodies.

Time waiting for paint/glue to dry doesn't count for the 1 hour crafting time.

This is meant to be a low stress swap so please avoid sending extras. However, if you both agree to craft more than the minimum I can't really stop you...

As in the Craftster swap rules, you need a DC number if shipping within the US, and proof of posting if sending internationally. If your package is too small to qualify for DC#, please keep your proof of posting, but beware that if the package doesn't arrive you will be required to resend!

This is the minimum amount of communication I want from you:
PM the organiser AND your partner when sending and receiving (don't forget DC#), post in the thread at least once to make sure you get any messages from me posted there. Let me know you're alive and crafting halfway through (via PM or in thread). Also: if you don't hear from your partner at all and you're done with your package, hold off on sending and please PM me.

I reserve the right to refuse swappers with a history of bad communication or dodgy feedback. (But I hope I won't need to!)

Some ideas for quick crafts:
A notecard set
Simple throw pillow
A necklace
Elaborate earrings
Hand carved stamp
A stationary set
A pin cushion
A knitted or crocheted dish scrubbie
A simple stuffie or amigurumi
A special bookmark
Coaster or coaster set

Your favourite colours:
Your favourite patterns and themes:
Name some of your favourite things:

Any other informative links?:

Do you wear jewellery?
Do you have any gadgets in need of a cosy?
Are you able to post photos of the package you receive?

Are there any colours/patterns/themes you would hate to receive?

Partnering questions:
Would you like to swap multiple 1 hour items? (This is not mandatory, but if more than one person wants to send extra I can try to partner them with each other)
What kinds of crafts can you make in 1 hour: (name at least a few for my sanity when partnering...)
How many times do you need to post in the thread to fulfil the minimum requirements for communication? (The answer is in the rules)

64  Tiny aquarium in a tin in CHALLENGE 97 ENTRIES by Annchen on: April 08, 2014 03:59:58 PM
The short version: Look! I made a pretty thing!

The longer version:

It all started with this pin... I hadn't really thought about making it myself, and then AmandaBL claimed me for it in the Ongoing Pinterest Swap. You should go look at it! She was thoughtful enough to include some goodies to help me make my own tin garden. I was really excited to try, but I wasn't sure what to use for grass so I just let the idea stew for a bit...

It's not that easy to get altoid tins in Sweden, but I do have a bunch of these:

It's a tin promoting cough drops, and we got tons of them sent to the pharmacy where I work. I don't know if we gave any out... Any promotion not okayed by the marketing department tend to just vanish mysteriously... Ahem, I liberated a couple of them (with permission...).

I also tend to hold on to all kinds off odd bits and bobs, and I've been hanging on to a set of glass fish. They're connected to glass floats with fishing wire, and the idea is to have a nice fake fish bowl with the fish hanging as if they're swimming. It sounds good in theory, but standing water gets gross quickly... Luckily my little fishie can swim again, without yucky water.

For the background I searched for underwater stock photos, and I found this one by Tigers-stock. I printed it out and glued it to the inside of the tin using decoupage glue (I guess it's something like mod podge). Next untied the knot securing the glass floater to the fish. The string was long enough to hang the fish from and I duct taped it to the lid. As much as I like duct tape I wanted a more classy look on the outside of the tin, so it got a face lift with some origami paper and a neat frog and fish pond paper I had in my stash. I finished it off with a decoupage varnish to get rid of the slightly sticky feeling from the glue and make it nice and shiny.

When everything was dry I filled the tin with sand. The sand comes from Sgsand, one of my favourite beaches. I would swim there more often, but it's freaking cold in the Baltic sea... I'm not sure why I have a plastic bag of sand in my stash, but look I FINALLT USED IT! Err... Some of it.

The decorations in the sand are found and swapped objects. I think you recognise the neat green compass AmandaBL sent. Gemusia sent me the small pieces of amber in the make a friend swap, and the glass piece and star are from a whimsy jar I got in a magic yarnball swap from littlebluegirl. The cute little shells are from a broken necklace.

I'm very happy with my new aquarium! It's been a while since I made something fun and silly for me... Smiley

I'm going to wake up this thread to post better pictures...

Right way up this time!

These are the supplies she sent me, and I've actually made my own take on the tin garden... Smiley

EDIT: This is what I made...

I received my altoid garden the other day! It's so pretty, and it all came in a wooden box. The tin and other goodies were beautifully wrapped in small pieces of fabric. I got several tiny things so I can make my own garden in a box and I really look forward to trying.

This is the first time I've got mail in the form of a wooden box, and this is what I found inside:

Unfortunately the picture of the garden is not fantastic... I'll have to try again in daylight and with a better camera. Oh, and uploading via computer since the ipad apparently likes to flip pictures...

Can you see the tiny bunny?

And since these two easter bunnies reached their destination I'll post a picture of them too. Ready to tilt your head again? Tongue

They were fun to make, and I like the easter-y look. I found a super soft cotton yarn in my stash that worked really well. There are more pictures on my (swedish) blog: http://annchens.blogspot.se/2014/03/recept-pa-stickad-kanin.html Right way up there for some reason.

I finally managed to hand over the shrek hat! More pictures Smiley It took some time to get a decent picture since it was very funny to take off the hat, apparently.

What? Why are you looking at me?

Is there something on my head?

I'm not sure I like you two any more. Angry

We released the baby shortly therafter...

Yay! It got there in one piece Cheesy I ended up stuffing his bum with a marble to combat the top heavy nature of the pattern and I was afraid they might think I was trying to smuggle stuff to you Tongue

But I need to add the last lonely stuffy to the gallery, right? GrindHouseHussy19 did a great job!

Zombie bunny got a friend!!

A fanged friend... I love that he's made out of bits and pieces from unfortunate stuffed animals... I also love that the red bowtie and the white fur makes it look like the rabbit from one of my most beloved Swedish comics had a little accident  Grin See for yourself here

Look at the fun bracelet Smiley I also got a button jar that's already been eaten by my craft room, and a ton of Canadian goodies! Thank you so much GrindHouseHussy19!

After a lot of delay... (sorry!)

I got a lovely package from rscowtown! The Shrek hat was a claim from this month, and the rest of the goodies was my prize from last month. Thank you again! The pictures are not that good, but I hope you can still see my awesome goodies!

First the shrek hat. I haven't had a chance to visit the cute little ogre that this hat was meant for yet, but I'm still hoping for action pictures Smiley

Two knitted dishcloths with a neat crocheted edge. The scarf is made with purple fleece and a really nice fabric with a pattern that looks like knitted stitches. I'll have to get a less blurry picture of it... I really like the big button too!

I love these and they've got lots of use already. I might have a tiny coaster addiction... They're a great size and as you can see they're big enough to put under the teapot Smiley There is one more multicoloured one, but I think it's hiding somewhere. We used them on the drink and snack table when hubby had a dinner party for his employees, and I might be biased, but I think that table looked great! (black table, colourful coasters = win)

Oh, wait... I see it now. The missing one is in use on the side table!

Thank you so much, and I'm sorry for taking so long with the pictures.
