1  Voodoo Doll Costume in Halloween Costumes by theEEKinGEEK on: October 31, 2009 07:53:55 AM
A couple years ago I saw a posting by mento_bug for a Voodoo Doll Costume she had made (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=217085.0). I fell in love and tried to make it last year, however having an epic fail with actual burlap it never turned out. So this year was round two and I am in love with my costume Smiley I can't wait to wear it out!

To create this dress I altered a simplicity pattern to fit my needs, what was so wonderful about it was that it was on sale for 1 dollar Grin.

The fabric was given to me by a stupendous friend iota1617 for free (thank you), it is a natural muslin which work MUCH better then the burlap.

The heart is made of out a red vinyl. which I glued to the dress with some permanent fabric glue. I then did some simple stitch detailing with embroidery thread and finally stabbed my heart :-P. The needles are quilters needles that have a flat long back, I glued them to the inside of the dress leaving the pointy part out which I covered with yellow felt beads I bought from Etsy.

This is probably my favorite thing I have made in a loooong time. I am in love.

I received from dark.star.88 yesterday and I LOVE everything, the pictures were really interesting! Smiley

Here is a picture of the box it came it. I love it! Smiley

Here is a picture of the frame and a necklace she gave me. The frame is black and has stars painted on it as well as there really neat details in the corners. The necklace has a little skeleton key on it.

Now for a few pictures! Smiley My favorites!

I love the colors and the look of it!

This picture I love because I find it really interesting a whole and I love run down buildings!

I chose this one because I LOVE Korn! Smiley I was very excited about this picture and I think it is good for being at a concert, I know what effort it takes to get a good picture while standing in the middle of a ton of jumping people!

THANKS SO MUCH I LOVE EVERYTHING! I will post more images later because there is such a variety!

Hiii, I am posting the pictures that DropkickMick sent me of what I sent to her Smiley

Firstly is a book purse that she had on her wist Smiley I bought a book from good will (Liberation Management to be exact :-p)

The purse is lined with this really sweet black and white clock fabric that was supposed to reflect some of the steampunk items she had listed on her wist.

Here is a brown hat in which I stitched a flower applique on. No, I did not knit the hat...I got it at H&M, but I did cut out petals out of 2 different yellow/gold felt colors and used a purple button as the center.

Lastly a set of decorative tea towels. They are the same fabric in different colors. 2 are brown with green design and 2 are green with a darker green design Smiley

I hope she liked everything!
