I know similar swaps have been done before. The galleries look fantastic. Would anyone be interested in a swap like this, later in the summer? It would be about all things cherry and cherry blossom. Please feel free to post ideas regarding number of items and size that you would be interested in swapping. Maybe sign-ups could begin in July?

I have always wanted to make a friendship album quilt, and this is my first try at organizing. I would like to host a series of swaps for quilt blocks with the intent of having enough blocks to do this in six months or so. All blocks will be 6" size,  (really 6 1/2" when block is done, before being sewn into quilt).

Our first block is called Friendship Star, and is easy enough for anyone to make. The link to the pattern is below. Remember, we are making and swapping the 6" size.

20  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Little Odd-ball Yarn Swap on: May 21, 2008 09:45:13 AM
I got the idea for this swap from reading a post about a yo-yo afghan on the crochet boards. This would also be good for those who do amigurumi. In this swap, we would be swapping little balls of yarn, can be leftovers or whatever, in ten yard increments. You would send your partner ten little balls of yarn, each neatly wound, containing ten yards of any kind of yarn, worsted weight. (the expectation will be that this is acrylic yarn, but swappers are free to include othery types as long as it is worsted weight) This little grab-bag would help expand our yarn stashes and would be good for when just a little of a certain color is needed. Waddaya think?
