1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Gretel Beret on: December 01, 2007 12:12:45 PM
This is Ysolda's Gretel Beret. I knit it for my sister for Christmas, in Paton's Classic Wool Merino.

I want to keep it. Aha.

Sorry the pictures aren't that great. I constantly fight with my camera and the flash.

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My Painting. on: December 01, 2007 12:07:25 PM
I should really think up a title for this painting, but I've been refering to it as simply "My Painting" for so long that nothing else sticks.
The concept was based around a scene from the movie Harold & Maude. The flowers kindof give it away. If you've seen it, I hope you'll know what I was trying to say here.
In a nutshell, the concept was about individuality, and how no two people are the same.
This painting was for art class at school, and it took about 2 and a half months to complete. I'm really really happy with how it came out, and it changed a lot over time. There's still some things I might add to it.
The model was my younger sister.

Thanks for looking Smiley

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Top-down Sleeves on: August 28, 2007 08:29:18 AM
Ooof this is my first post ever. Aha Smiley

Well, I'm making JeJune's Maude Louise (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=154869.0). And, because I am not lovely and skinny like her, I'm making one of the larger sizes. She hasn't got to writing the pattern for the sleeves in the larger sizes yet, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to try some top-down sleeves. Sadly, the top-down sleeve tutorial she linked on her website is closed now.

So, I was wondering if anybody could give me a quick run-through of how to do top-down sleeves? I don't need anything incredibly detailed.. I know I need to start off with short rows, but I'm completely stumped as to where to start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Smiley Thank you!!
