1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Proto-Yarn on: August 15, 2018 06:56:38 PM
Since you bought 2 balls,  can you just pull from the opposite end of the skein? Instead of one toe-up, and one band-down? One center pull, the other outside- in?

Yay for fiber!
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Had to share this cross stitch album cover :D on: August 15, 2018 06:39:29 PM
The curiosity is painful. I looked it up & nothing. It's awful. Somebody tell me WTF already!

I resisted the temptation to purchase it.

So much loud laughter! TELLLL MEEEE!

Recently, I was in an antique shop, and there was a needlework stitched using thread (not floss) on [what appeared to be] a pre-printed silk panel. From the early 19th Century!  I was fascinated by the idea of someone stitching this before The Interwebs, and all the toile scene stitching (which, tbh, is on my list, too). Amazing! Just like this!

Here's to the Original Makers!  Cheers!

'I jes can't do it, Captain!'  -Scotty, Star Trek. (and me. Because I can't.)

I love mine, too! I couldn't bear to put it outside, so she's hanging suckered to my bedroom window. There are heart shaped crystals that throw rainbows on my wall.

The shrinky-dinks are one of my favorite bits!
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Had to share this cross stitch album cover :D on: August 15, 2018 05:44:30 PM
So many questions! Gah! Wouldn't you love to know all about the maker and the impetus?  What if they were swappers like us? Or did they make it for a close friend? Or themselves!

Thank you so much for sharing! Did you pick it up?
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Re: Stitch Along 2013-until the END OF TIME on: August 15, 2018 05:41:15 PM
Edits don't push a new notice, so I was confused by comments! Sled? What did I miss?

I missed a sweet holiday Rudolph sled! Awww, like The Year Without Santa claymation, Rudolph! Love it, Lindy!

Mine is going slow. Non-fabric is a different animal, amiright?

I was wondering the same, kittykill. Thanks for the tip, Finney!

So glad you posted so we could rock it!

I just love her! Adorable!  So many smart choices! The hair! The expression! The pattern-on-pattern? Yes, please!

But, I agree with curious! The tee is perfect!

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Assemblage Art Swap 3 Gallery on: August 13, 2018 02:21:55 PM
As long as it works, and you don't mind, who will care?

I'm glad you like the lights. I figured even if you weren't a lights person, the shapes are fun!

It was a great swap, ladies! Thank you for being so awesome!

Oh, and I forgot to tell you!  The little Eiffel Tower CAME FROM PARIS!  No joke!

My friend was traveling in Paris and through a crazy story ended up with SEVERAL Eiffel key chains.  She offered them to a big group of us, but I declined.  Finally she said...not even to use in one of your projects?  and I'm like *SWIPE*

So, most likely made in China.  to Paris.  To the U.S.  and now with you!

good stuff!
