1  Masquerade Ball Masks in Costumes: Completed Projects by Appaj00ce on: May 07, 2009 10:34:06 PM
My boyfriend's college friend has a girlfriend in a sorority. And her sorority is holding a Masquerade Ball on Saturday. I knew right away that I wanted to make our masks.

I went with the color teal because it's the same color as my old prom dress. I'm not sure how happy I am with the turn out on my mask...but I really like the bf's.

mine and his

I wanted something really detailed with lots of pizazz.

And he wanted something more toned down

Con crit is always appreciated Smiley Thanks for looking!

I made three of them. One for my mom, grandma, and another for my best friend who miscarried last year <3

I hope you like them! Con Crit is always appreciated :3

3  two love birds in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by Appaj00ce on: February 26, 2009 09:25:26 AM
Since my boyfriend's moved away to go to school I've found myself incredibly bored and on the edge of another bout of depression (not *just* because of his move, but it didn't help). So to keep myself company and to keep my sad self from picking fights I picked up embroidery.

Here's my first project fresh off the hoop. The two lovebirds are a pattern from sublime stitching and I freehanded the shading in the wings, the branch, and the hearts

The only thing I'm displeased about it that I changed my mind about a placement of hearts and when I pulled the thread out the dye was left behind Sad

I added our initials...Woodrow and Kayleigh

Better detailing of my stitches

I'm not sure what to do with it now...maybe frame it?

Thanks for looking and comments and critique are always welcome <3

5  Giant Cupcake! in Halloween Costumes by Appaj00ce on: November 05, 2008 07:49:09 AM
I decided to be a giant cupcake for halloween Cheesy

I took about 3 yards of tulle and added elastic on both sides of it so that it would hold onto the cardboard and my body.

I used cardboard and tin foil to create the tin. To fasten it to my body, I took 4 pieces of ribbon and attached it to the cardboard so that it would tie over my shoulders.

Finally I stuffed it with fiberfill (used mostly for pillows and stuffed toys) to make it nice and fluffy.

The red beret is my cherry on top :3

My costume was a hit at work, everyone loved it!! My new nickname is cupcake Cheesy

Thanks for looking and please vote for me!

6  Strawberries and Cherries and Daisys oh my!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Appaj00ce on: April 15, 2008 02:15:55 PM
I spent all of Saturday and about an hour today making a skirt with matching hair bows and other random accessories.

It's got a fully elastic waistband. I really struggled on making everything look very professional but I think I did a good job :3 It might look too wide but that's because it's in the lolita style and it needs to fit a petticoat.

Close up of the lace!

Matching hair bows <3

Action shot ^^ I used flash to show the true mint color

I also made these. The combs don't stay as well since they're plastic but I'll find use for them I'm sure

Let me know what you think!! Thanks for looking :3

8  Fraying Lace in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Appaj00ce on: October 27, 2007 10:11:26 PM
I just finished a skirt project with a cluny lace trim. Where I had to cut the lace, it's beginning to fray and I need some help.

How can I stop the fraying and how can I prevent it for my next project.

please and thank you <3

9  Gift for Boyfriend's Birthday in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Appaj00ce on: September 20, 2007 08:30:22 PM
My boyfriend is a Lvl 70 Mage on World of Warcraft and he's turning 21 this weekend.

I made him this Alliance shirt to wear during his raids

I accidentally bought an acrylic-y type instead of plain fabric paint so the edging isn't as nice and it looks kinda puffed up.

I like it and I know he'll love it

Thanks for looking!

<3 Kayleigh
