21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Booties maybe? on: March 16, 2008 10:04:34 PM
I made a baby blanket http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c236/BlueEyes1084/100_0532.jpg but I wanna make something else to go along with it ( I have lots of extra yarn from the project ) any suggestions or a quick baby accessory I could make (ie a pair of booties or something)?

22  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My first project posted on here. A baby blankie (nothing too special) on: March 15, 2008 09:53:57 PM
Yea yea it's just a baby blanket I know I know but I just finished it tonight and it's for a girl in my unit.

I used the pink pound of love (not the whole thing) and Benrat Softee Baby (in the pink and white). Those two combined gave me such a thick, yet soft feel. And the color is so cute because it's like a speckle of white in the blankie.

Sorry the pics kinda suck but I had to post something!!

<~ I posted this so you could get a feel for  the color
23  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Doubling yarn for a better afghan? on: March 15, 2008 03:39:53 PM
Is it just me or do you find it makes a better afghan if you double the yarn? I knit an afghan from Homespun and it seemed kinda thin but I knitted a baby blanket with 2 strands of yarn and it feels so thick and nice.

Same pattern so it couldnt be that!
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / A Tree? on: March 14, 2008 06:06:21 PM
I'm making an afghan for Christmas for my grandmother (or maybe both grandmoms?) and I'd love it make it like a family tree. So I wanna do a design in the afghan. I could use a cable design which would look amazing or even just a different stitch design. Can anyone help me with this?
25  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Hmm how to turn this into an afghan? on: March 11, 2008 08:17:26 PM
My friend asked me to make him a red afghan. I started working the dishcloth pattern of K2 YO knit to end but I got bored so I started finishing it. Now I dunno how to turn this into an afghan. Should I make a bunch of squares to stitch together to make an afghan or make almost like scarves to stitch around the square. Anyone have any suggestions? The square is 25 inches by 26 at this time.

28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Least favorite part of knitting.. on: March 07, 2008 06:49:35 PM
GRR I just realized how much I hate casting on. It sucks so much. Makes me realize how not close to the end I am. I guess it's fun to start new project but when I'm just starting I feel so crappy... Right now I'm casting on 38 to start this: http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/50368.html Unfortunately I was planning on doing a few of them and stitching them together so this is going to take a while!!! Ohhh aggravation.

30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Size of a baby blanket? on: March 02, 2008 11:59:52 AM
What's a good size for a baby blanket? I'm making 2 right now but I don't know how long to make it..

I'm using the dishcloth pattern (k1 yo k to end).
