Teeny tiny OWL update.  I hit a brick wall with my project, so I'm going to revamp it a little bit.  I'm extremely far away from my 1000 squares, so I'm going to start over, and make it stripes instead!  Less blocks to sew together that way!  Wink  I will post a pic of progress tomorrow, as I'm off work today and should be able to get a hefty start!

Owl Update!  After doing some simple multiplication, and calculating blanket/square size, I need 1050 squares, of which I have 15. For me to hit my time frame of 8 weeks, I need to hit roughly 130 a week.  I've been making them any time I'm watching movies, but it may take a bit longer than I expected to finish it Tongue

OWL Subject & Option(if available):  Potions option 1
House:  Ravenclaw
Project Name: Snape's Quilt
Brief Description: My plan is to make a quilt for a queen size bed with dark, cool colors that you would most likely find in Snape's office.  Mostly blues, grays, and purples.  I plan on knitting the squares, which I have never done, and stitching them together.  Once I measure the blanket and respective square patterns my plan is to set a weekly number of squares to complete.  I am looking at a time-frame of 6 to 8 weeks.  Smiley

I just solidified my knitting skills a couple of days ago, and I was looking for a large project to start when I found this post.  I am super excited to get started, and the added motivation of others working on the same project is always a plus!

I love this rug!  Any word on a pattern yet?!  I was just thinking I need a new rug for our bathroom/hallway transition and something like this would be perfect.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Hollywood themed outfit? Any ideas? on: February 18, 2011 07:09:54 PM
It could be about the horror movie craze of the 80's,how Psycho was a major Hollywood turning point, or simply about how some stars are indeed "psycho" but since they're stars we watch with baited breath. You could use the knife in place of a bow on the back of the dress or make some type of pendant/broach to put on the front.  Just my addition to what was already said Smiley
