2  Re: Favorite Book Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by krashromance on: September 14, 2009 10:09:33 AM
Picture time!  Here's what I received from Staar84.  Everything is so awesome this post is going to be a bit pic. heavy.

First up is a fabulous book pillow!  The pics really don't show the true color, its a very pretty purple, and has a pocket in the back to stash your book in!

Second is a set of two handkerchiefs.  I love these!  They are both embroidered, you'll recognize the pattern on the white one from the book cover.

Here are the books! I couldn't wait to start reading them, and I am already a good chunk of the way through Storm Front.

Next there are some sweet bookmarks!  One set have spaces where I can write quotes on them, the other set double as pens.

To top it all off there are some "this book belongs to" markers!

I didn't take a picture of it, but everything came wrapped in wrapping paper, and it felt like Christmas! I feel so spoiled!  I love everything I received!  Thanks so much Staar84! Grin Grin Grin

3  Re: Crocheters versus knitters swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by krashromance on: July 10, 2009 04:19:58 PM
Woohoo I am the first one with pics!  Behold the power of knit! Lol.

First up I received a set of nifty arm warmers!  I love the color scheme, a deep red and a silver grey, with buttons!  (I may or may not be obsessed with buttons).

Second, I received a cowl, its a light tan, and feels awesome.  The best part is, with the color I can wear it with any set of scrubs I own!  This sounds stupid, I know, but our office gets down to 60 degrees during the day and its so cold your brain goes numb. Apparently the Drs don't notice for some reason.

Also a very goofy action shot is included!

Thanks so much Designvigilante!  What a great package!  I hope you like the stuff I sent as much as I like these!

Prepare for awesomeness!  I finally got my camera charged and the memory stick back, so I thought I would post the amazing stuff I received from Teffy!

First Up we have some Star Wars Goodness!

It's a Cross- Stitch of "May the Force Be With You" with a blue Lightsaber.  The pic doesn't do it justice, but the green frame is slightly glowy under the light.  Below that is a hand made Deathstar Pin, which has found it's rightful place on my Rockband Guitar Strap since this picture.   It's so cute!

Next up we have some Tetris Magnets.  I didn't even mention that Tetris is one of my favorite games of all time, right up there with Mario.  When I was putting these on my fridge I started humming the original theme really loudly, then ran to dig out my Dreamcast version.

And last but not least Tees!  I love love love these shirts!  The meh one is straight off my wists, and all my WoW friends are jealous XD.  The other is the Rebel symbol!  Woot for Star Wars!

I had a fantastic time with this swap, and I learned how to make a couple new things myself, thanks again Teffy!

5  Felted mohawk hat, double crochet in Crochet: Completed Projects by krashromance on: January 23, 2009 12:54:02 PM
I saw the picture of the original post, and decided I could just add a Mohawk onto my regular hat pattern.  Here are the results as modeled by my nephew.  Thanks for looking!  Grin

6  Re: Embroidered Shirt-ATHF in Needlework: Completed Projects by krashromance on: September 20, 2008 10:59:29 AM
I kind of cheated.  I took the picture below and traced it with an iron-on pencil on the back.  Then just smacked it on there. The embroidery was the easy part, trying not to color on my stitches with the paint was much harder.  Tongue

PS.  Thanks everyone for the nice comments!

7  Trying to turn the death star into a stencil...any ideas? in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by krashromance on: September 18, 2008 06:29:52 PM
I saw a free stencil floating around the net, but it's not detailed enough.  I want to turn the image below into a stencil for the back of a hoodie,  I also don't have photoshop, which would probably make it a lot easier. Any help or tips would be much appreciated!

8  Embroidered Shirt-ATHF in Needlework: Completed Projects by krashromance on: September 17, 2008 03:03:27 PM
This onsie is for my friend's baby that just turned 1; basically I did all the stitching first, except for the spots on Meatwad, and then filled it all in with fabric paint. Then I put a patch on the back to make sure all of the stitches didn't irritate his skin or anything.  This is my first attempt at embroidery and fabric painting together, so any comments would be appreciated!

9  Zen Gardens: Zelda and floating flower (3 pics) in Completed Projects by krashromance on: January 13, 2008 01:47:21 PM
I made these a while back for my DBF and I to set on our desks.  The first one is the Triforce from Zelda, with symbols for strength, wisdom, and courage put into the triangles.  The second is a flower floating by a lily pad.  I painted both with acrylic craft paints, and sprayed them all with a clear coat.  I ended up getting sand everywhere when taking the pictures, so excuse the sandiness please! Tongue

10  Guitar Hero Guitar Plushie in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by krashromance on: January 12, 2008 10:14:34 PM
My friends are obsessed with all things guitar hero, so I made this for their son who isn't old enough to play yet.  His name is Brock so I thought it would be cute to put Brockstar on there in Metallica type font, I also made sure to reinforce the buttons just in case he gets a little carried away.

Just a note, I took really fast pics before I left to give them their gift, and I have no idea why this picture makes it look so wonky; I think it's just bad positioning on my part.  I will try to get a better picture from them later.  Sorry about that!
