1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / All work and no play. Urgent help needed. on: January 15, 2011 04:55:25 AM
So I have very little time to get my brainstorm on but hoped that some of you might come to my rescue.
Basically, I want to make up a box that represents 'Work' and then 'Play' for my flatmates birthday.
The budget is limited sadly.

The work section would essentially be a 'library essentials' kit for uni capers.
Any ideas would be appreciated there.

The play section is a bit more open-ended. Not sure which path to go down.

HELP. Please help.

Just another post to add to the 75 pages here already...
Think I've read almost every page, or very close to.
Why are boys so difficult to buy for, never mind craft for?!

I'm mega confused about what to do for the friend-boy's 18th.
Feel like I can't just throw something rubbish together.

I am thinking though of buying 18 balloons, and maybe getting a couple filled with helium. And then buying 18 things, to attach something to every balloon.

But then also, should I put things in the balloons as well?!
And if so, what?

Arg. Hate this.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / I know everyone does this... on: October 29, 2007 12:47:27 PM
I put off coming up with a costume idea,
Now I need help.
I'm hosting the party so need quite an individual idea.

I thought about "Roadkill" but didn't know whether to dress in black, making myself look like a road (with a stuffed animal), or whether I could make track marks across my clothes, with lots of fake blood and fake intestines... (I'm concerned it might be considered a bit offensive though)

Failing that, I thought about being a doll. But I don't think it's scary, or distinguishable enough.

I don't want to be a witch.

But I want it to be a Halloween costume, and not just fancy dress.

I'm not giving you much time.
Ideas would be loved.

What were those Miss ___ examples? I can't find them.

Or... I don't know. HELP.

What a rant.

A lot.

If only I was even half as crafty.
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Please. Help. on: October 12, 2007 07:51:06 AM
Ok, here goes.
This isn't really Halloween related, but with all you crafty costume people swimming around on here, I was hoping someone could help.

For a show we're putting on at school... we have a group of Clockwork Toys. We want their costumes to look really effective, but they need to be cheap. Really cheap.

They can't be in the form of dolls though, our clockwork toys. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else we could make them!?

And also how we can really show that is what they are?!

Bit tricky but any help would be AWESOME.

I'm beginning to think this post makes little sense grammatically. But hopefully someone will understand.

I think this is a cool idea.

But how would you be able to make them look realistic?

That is such a cool idea.
I'm hopeless when it comes to keeping a proper journal.

But this is something I could probably keep running.
