21  Cute Sock Monkey Quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by danger.kitty on: February 12, 2010 07:08:18 PM
This is the first quilt I've ever made...unless you count the "quillow" quilted pillow I made about 15 years ago.  This was made for our eldest over a period of months...not because it was terribly intricate or difficult but just because I was very busy with work and didn't have my own sewing machine.  When I finally did get my own machine, I finished it off and presented it to her.  She was about 2 1/2 at the time and absolutely thrilled (now almost 3 1/2, how embarrassing that it's taken me so long to post it!).  Anyways, here it is on her bed - the sock monkey quilt, backed with red cordory.
details, no flash

the whole quilt overview

It's not perfect by any means (and there is a bit of puckering on the backing Sad ) but she likes it and I was rather proud of myself.

Next up, making a rag quilt play mat for my 4 month old!

Also, my partner recieved yesterday so I'm posting thumbnails of the photos I took before sending.
all in one cloth pad sample and instructions with pattern piece - cloth pads were on her "want" list but I didn't have any suitable fabric in my stash
rice heating pack...long and skinny, perfect for behind the neck - from her "want" list in her favorite colours
a sleeping mask...so she can save on curtains?  steampunk inspired as per her likes, matches the heating pack
the first crocheted slippers I've ever made - came out well and matching to the heat pack and sleep mask Smiley - from her "want" list
a ball of tshirt yarn made from a purple marle tshirt that was thrift store bound - I thought she might crochet something from this as she said she is learning to crochet
a set of kitchen stuff - scrubbie, pot holder, and soap saver with handsoap
a sideways photo of the lunchbag I made from a sample of curtain fabric.  it's really gorgeous!  I'm going to have to make myself another (smaller one) with the bit of the same fabric I have left over - a reusable lunch bag was also on the "want" list
laminated tips on how to use baking soda and white vinegar around the house - natural cleaning products were on the "want" list; I also sent a box of baking soda with this

I hope you like everything SnazzyJazzy and post better pics if you have them Smiley

23  Another Seija Hat in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by danger.kitty on: February 09, 2010 07:35:40 PM
I whipped this up the other day in some acrylics I had on hand.  Single colour with contrasting trim and heart embellishment.  I've still got to weave in my ends and attach the ribbon properly but my baby girl Wren looked so cute in her try on that I had to post.  Yes, it's a bit big but that's okay as it's summer here atm and she won't be wearing it for another couple months  Smiley

Made this little dude from the RoxyCraft pattern...very easy pattern to follow for a newbie like me.  The only thing I didn't realize until I had him sewn together is that the original pattern takes the fun fur mane all the way around the head and I stopped at the neck for whatever reason.  Oh well, I still think hes cute Smiley

28  Re: Potty Mouth/Sweary Word Swap Rnd 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by danger.kitty on: July 28, 2006 03:07:49 PM
a'ight...here I am with some fuckin pictures

cock shaped pin cushion to keep my sewing machine company

some fucking stitch markers that I might use as wine glass charms till I get back to crocheting this winter

sassy postcards with pinups and scooters - both of which are my god damn favorite things - that say "if bullshit were music, you'd be a big brass band"  "eat shit and die"  "eat my fuck"  "see you next Tuesday (you cunt)"  "kiss my ass"  "sod it"

colorful phrase generator and doom generation sweary  magnets

Yay, so fucking excited, love everything - but I wish I would've been able to see the other fucking thing that thatdarnpunk wasn't able to send because of her shitty sewing maching  Undecided
