11  Grocery bag holder in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by AshtonagoL on: February 18, 2012 08:21:22 AM
Hi!  I think this is my first time posting in this category.  I'm usually always on the purses and bags board.  Anyway, I just made a grocery bag holder and thought I'd share it here.  I used this tutorial.  http://notesfromtheparsonage.wordpress.com/2010/03/25/plastic-bag-holder-tutorial/  It would be easy enough to do without a tute but I like to use tutorials when I can.  Less thinking on my part! lol.

Thanks for looking!

12  A few new purses in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AshtonagoL on: January 11, 2012 06:26:12 AM
Here are a few more purses I made before Christmas.  The first one is reversible and turned out so cute!  I found the tute for it here  http://www.prudentbaby.com/2010/06/beginners-bias-tape-bag-with-free.html

This one is my own pattern.  Inside is pink.

This one is also my own pattern.  Black inside.

This is my favorite and it's made from my first store bought pattern!  (I'll have to look and see which one, I can't remember..sorry)

Thanks for looking!

14  Re: Creating my own logo...need help! in Crafty Business Discussion by AshtonagoL on: June 04, 2011 05:34:08 PM
My name is going to be Handmade PB&J.  (Meaning purses, bags, and jewelry).  Here is what I have so far that I made in my photo editing program.  I'd like to add some bracelets and purses to the PB&J ppl's arms, lol.  And obviously text, but I can do that part on my own.  Also, before anyone puts too much thought into this, is this "logo" too juvenille?  I will be making some kids items but most of my items are for ladies.  Now I'm wondering if I should just do a picture of a purse and a necklace or something a little more "generic" yet "elegant"?  Thanks for looking and sharing your thoughts!

15  Totebags: More teacher gifts (pic heavy) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AshtonagoL on: May 25, 2011 07:35:42 AM
The first is a Dr. Suess bag I made for my son's teacher.  He's in first grade and made great strides in learning to read this year so I really wanted her gift to be a big thank you for teaching him to read.  Not to mention that he loves reading!  The outside is cotton and fusible fleece.  The name is heat transfer I cut out with my silhouette and ironed onto canvas.  I erased the last name for posting.  The inside is canvas with a pocket and pencil pocket.  I also appliqued a note/picture from my son inside.  It ties closed with the ribbon.  We gave it to her along with his favorite Dr. Suess book.

Crappy pic but he wrote: "Thank you for an awesome year.  You are a star.  You are the best teacher in the whole world.  Love, Ashton".  I forgot to have him write the year so I added that with heat transfer.

I also made this simple tote for my friend's daughter to give her teacher.  Wish I would've made this one differently so it held it's shape better but it's canvas so it'll still be sturdy.  Last names erased.

16  Inulated lunch totes and reuseable snack bags in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AshtonagoL on: May 13, 2011 02:04:03 PM
I finally got two teacher gifts finished!  Still need to do one more and make something for the bus driver before the end of next week.  Gotta quit procrastinating!  Anyway, here are the totes and snack bags.  The totes have fusible fleece for the insulation and are lined with a PEVA shower curtain.  I got a silhouette for mother's day  Grin so I used that to make heat transfers with their initials.  The purple one looks better in person as far as the letter showing up.  It does blend more on the black on than I'd like but I was pressed for time so it had to do.  Roll Eyes  The snack bags are not insulated but are lined with PEVA.  Next time I will have to do something different.  The seam allowance made a little more "bulk" than I'd prefer.  Guess I should've trimmed them more.  But they're ok and look super cute with the lunch bags.  These teachers got theirs today and both loved them!  Thanks for looking!

18  My first Buttercups in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by AshtonagoL on: September 20, 2010 02:48:23 PM
For the last couple of weeks I've been working on buttercup bags for the first time.  I love this pattern!  (Well now I do thanks to CraftyChef for helping me figure out a few parts).  Anyway, here is the first one I made.  No interfacing, no pockets, nothing fancy.  It was for a 6 year old.  Excuse the cruddy pictures.  I had to take them hurriedly before giving it as a gift.

This is my second one, just for me. Smiley  I interfaced this one and put a regular pocket and a zippered pocket inside.  I love how much sturdier it is with interfacing but wow, it makes a big difference in putting it together.  A little more challenging!

This one was a gift for my mom.  I enlarged it by 115% and it was the perfect size.  The original size is a bit small for us.  I interfaced this one too and added a zipper and zippered pocket.  Again, quick pictures, sorry for the quality.

19  Lots of shower gifts for baby girl (Pic heavy) in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by AshtonagoL on: May 18, 2010 02:20:05 PM
I had a baby shower to go to this past weekend and made lots of goodies for the mom-to-be and her new daughter.  I'm really proud of the bag.  I've never made a bag that wasn't just basically an unlined square so I'm happy with how this turned out!  (Please ignore all the junk around the items in the pics.  I took these right before I left for the shower and was running late so I didn't take time to clean up first.)

Small diaper/tote bag:

Lining and pocket:

Close up of pocket with baby's name on it.  First time doing letters on my machine so they're a little wobbly but it's on the inside so it won't be seen too much.

Changing pad with pocket:

Partially folded changing pad:

Outside of changing pad:

Changing pad folded up:

Top of covered wipes case:

Bottom of covered wipes case:

Taggie/Lovey (or what we call a night night at our house):

Set of 3 burp cloths:

Burp cloths bundled up for gift giving:

Comments and critiques are welcome.  Thanks for looking!

20  Past bday cakes of my children (Pic heavy) in Dessert by AshtonagoL on: April 22, 2010 02:45:45 PM
This is my first post on the desserts board!   Grin I seem to be missing some pics of some bdays but that's ok.  I have plenty to share without them.  Wink
The first one is from my youngest sons 1st bday: cowboy theme.

Here is his smash cake.

My oldest son had 2 parties for his 2nd bday: Spongebob

and Elmo

Middle son's 1st bday: construction/traffic theme-I used several differnt things for dirt and rocks-M&M's, graham crackers, etc.:

and the cupcakes from the leftover batter

Middle son's 3rd bday: Mario themed-made using giant cupcake pan

Star cupcakes from leftover batter-sorry the color is bad in this pic-messed up my camera settings or something.

Thanks for looking!
