1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: ANOTHER Pin Cushion Swap Round 6 GALLERY on: March 28, 2008 04:06:16 PM
My partner received awhile ago but hasn't posted her cushion as of yet.  I hope she doesn't mind that I've put up for her.  Her fav colors are pink white and black.  I wanted to make a "springy" themed cushion, and couldn't figure out how best to work the black in.  I hope she liked it!

oh, and my favorite fae books etc...

WAR FOR THE OAKS by Emma Bull... TELL ME someone else has read this gem.

Also, Prattchet and Gaimen.

The Princess Bride, and Ever After are great...

But my very favorites are Grimm.  I love the old ones, Grimm and Anderson etc. I don't think anyone will ever match the Grimm Brothers

Oh!  I never thought of The Princess Bride! Awesome!  I am totally with you on the Brothers Grimm Smiley

After some silly camera battery issues, I'm finally getting to post my awesome goodies from KarenLoiuseM!!

This was my first swap, and she helped to make it incredible!

Here is a group shot!

She made me a gorgeous recipe box (the top is made from an LP!) with awesome dividers, blank recipe cards and some very interesting recipes, lol.  There was also a recipe book for casseroles, it has family favorites like Clam Batter Pudding with Salt-Pork Gravy and Kidney, Heart, and Liver in Soubise Sauce, yum! LOL.  There are some really appealing recipes too through!  Raspberry Souffle and Brownie Casserole are on my list of things to make!

Three great necklaces and a magnet - we share political views Wink

I wore the mermaid necklace yesterday with TONS of compliments Cheesy

Magetic dress-up dolls in their own little case - I LOVE these!

She made me an adorable little apron made from a vintage embroidered pillowcase!

A cool LP sleeve purse and beautiful tunnel of love case.

She also sent some crazy cool stickers and Elvis fabric that just so happens to match my bedding!  I see pillows in my near future!

I feel so spoiled!  This was my first swap and was totally awesome!  Some of Karen's pics came out much better than mine, thanks for posting them for me to use!

Great Swap!  Yay!

Instead making lofty resolutions that I never keep, I decided that this year all about trying new crafty things.  I need to get some variety in my stuffs -- I'd love to open a business of my own.  But that is next year's resolution!

My first learning experience this year is making jewelry, I've only made one other that turned out to look half decent.    Thanks for looking!http://

Quick question, about the liner...does it get attached after you pin handles in place, like the jordy bag? does it go all the way to the top of the bag or below the top piece? just a little confused sorry...it is me...not you i am sure...new to all this sewing stuff...thanks

The liner would go only as high as the bottom part of the bag.  You could insert it right after you tack or pin your pleats.  Sew it up right sides facing and tack it up like the outside, that way you can have it sandwiched in with the rest when you attach the top.  To clean it up, you'd just trim very close to the seam.  For a neater look, I'd wait until you have the top sewn on (but before reinforcing), fold the top edge of the liner down a bit, pin it and use the reinforcing seam to attach it.  Hope that helps, don't hesitate to ask if anything else seems wonky!

I know the image is hard to read, so a big tutorial and downloadable pdf can be found here -> http://sugarcouture.dementedesigns.net/wordpress/?p=27
