This is really cool. It seems like a fairly inexpensive and simple thing to do, but with amazing results. I think that there are definitely people who would be interested in purchasing something like this.

I love both of those, but the lunch try completely made me smile.

Very ambitious. It turned out really rad.
26  COOKING / Dessert / Re: fondant vs. gum paste on: July 19, 2008 09:39:46 PM
I tend to think of it pretty simply....fondant is soft generally, and gum paste is hard. I do realize that fondant will dry out and become harder, but this simplification works well for me. Fondant is great for covering cakes and making decorations that stick flat onto the cake, like swags, polka dots, and stuff like that. Gum paste is great for figures and anything you want to stand up on its own. You can mix some gum paste with fondant too to help the fondant dry quicker and harder. That works well with doing bows on cakes.

Wow!!!! that's the prettiest cake I've ever seen.  Before I read the part about the flowers, I assumed they were real.
Did it taste as good as it looks?

It was pretty yummy. I think that I like making cakes more than I like eating them though.

A-mazing!!!  That cake is totally beautiful!  This is totally OT, but where did you get those adorable ice cream cone bowls??  They are adorable.

Mu husband's grandmother gave us the bowls, and I do not think she even remembers where she had picked them up. They are cute though, and even have matching spoons.

Thanks. I am a bit sad that she is already 1; time sure does fly. She is such a sweetie though and watching her eat this made me laugh so hard.
