1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Machine Embroidery Ornaments on: December 26, 2009 08:51:39 PM
Simple, 2-sided, stuffed ornaments... Smiley late for this year... but it happens Smiley

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Ribbon Candy Ornaments on: December 05, 2009 09:07:17 PM
Saw these kits at WM a few years back... I bought them ALL... and also got some ribbons to duplicate them. I still have some yet to do, but I whipped these up tonight while DS and DH watched UFC... the more they yelled, the harder I worked so I wouldn't have to *watch* the fights! LOL

Supplies & Instructions
23" ribbon
cheapie beads
ornament hanger

measure 23" of ribbon, mark off every 2", thread needle and knot, thread on 1 bead, run thread thru the loop to knot bead on thread, pull needle thru center of ribbon at first marking, add a bead, run needle thru center of ribbon at second marking, continue to last marking, add another bead at top, thread ornament hanger thru last bead and tie off and cut thread
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Summertime Table Runner - strip quilted on: June 28, 2009 06:09:37 PM
Saw this in www.allpeoplequilt.com and finally made it.

I used 5 fat quarters: 4 red, 1 green, and some scrap white and green for the backing. I think its very cute.

Now to just find some heart-shaped black buttons for the seeds!

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Prom Flowers- wrist corsage & boutonniere on: May 16, 2009 02:17:25 PM
Made these for DS and his GF for the prom today. I think they turned out well. Hope she appreciates the work, not sure if she'll love them or not. Enjoy!

Ribbon, thread, wire and floral tape.

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Ribbon Lei on: February 21, 2009 09:46:04 PM
Got instruction books, then finally found ribbon online - here is my fist lei. White Ginger

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Fast Easy Summer/Hawaiian Top on: February 15, 2009 08:36:40 PM

Takes about 2 yards of fabric

Fold lengthwise, sew short ends together (yes, all 4) - making a tube
Fold over the selvage edge making a channel for elastic
Measure your chest, just under your armpits - cut elastic
Thread elastic thru the channel, sew ends together
And VIOLA! An easy peasy breezy top!

Sorry about the crazy tilted photo Smiley
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Bunco dice rolling mat on: February 10, 2009 01:13:44 PM
My mom asked me to make her some bunco dice rolling mats... she thought they were about 18" square and somehow have a raised edge, to keep the dice on the mat (or keep them off the floor LOL)

She thought it might be made with a stiff interfacing as well, and she mentioned ultrasuede!

Nothing like a long list of requirements...

I think 18" is too big, think 12" would be plenty big... and think the rolled edges can be accomplished with channels with dowels or straws inserted.

Does anyone here have any suggestions? Or has anyone seen anything like this before? I could really use a visual representation...
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / SuperHero capes on: February 07, 2009 06:42:55 PM
My GF wanted some capes for her kiddos... I was uninspired until I thought of these. I can see things I'd change for next time, but I think they're pretty fantastic and so do the kiddos Smiley

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Conversation Heart Pillows on: February 07, 2009 06:39:41 PM
So fun, easy and quick! Gotta love the embroidery machine, but hand-embroidery would be fantastic too!

I stuffed these with feathers BIG MISTAKE - lesson learned Sad

Then these are stuffed with fiberfill (much better) - IGIKY - stands for I Guess I'll Keep You - a saying I invented for my kids Smiley

They're made out of fleece and are about 9" across - found the idea on a machine embroidery board, theirs were about 12" but since I primarily use remnants, I reduced the size to accomodate the fabric I have on hand.
10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Totebag re-use on: January 04, 2009 08:10:29 PM
Got a set of these totebags, knew I'd eventually find something to do to spruce them up. Then after Christmas I got a Bernina 330... wahoo!

Here is the bag before:
