31  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Ribbon Candy Ornaments on: December 05, 2009 09:07:17 PM
Saw these kits at WM a few years back... I bought them ALL... and also got some ribbons to duplicate them. I still have some yet to do, but I whipped these up tonight while DS and DH watched UFC... the more they yelled, the harder I worked so I wouldn't have to *watch* the fights! LOL

Supplies & Instructions
23" ribbon
cheapie beads
ornament hanger

measure 23" of ribbon, mark off every 2", thread needle and knot, thread on 1 bead, run thread thru the loop to knot bead on thread, pull needle thru center of ribbon at first marking, add a bead, run needle thru center of ribbon at second marking, continue to last marking, add another bead at top, thread ornament hanger thru last bead and tie off and cut thread
32  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Sugar Skulls - Day of the Dead on: October 13, 2009 01:01:15 PM
I ordered the skull molds online, you make 2 halves, then glue together with royal icing. The recipe and instructions come with the molds. Then just decorate as you see fit.

That looks like a project for a cricut... you might look them up, I believe "boxes" are a type of cricut end-product
35  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Summertime Table Runner - strip quilted on: June 28, 2009 06:09:37 PM
Saw this in www.allpeoplequilt.com and finally made it.

I used 5 fat quarters: 4 red, 1 green, and some scrap white and green for the backing. I think its very cute.

Now to just find some heart-shaped black buttons for the seeds!

36  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Prom Flowers- wrist corsage & boutonniere on: May 17, 2009 06:48:20 PM
Thanks! She did like them.

Corsage - Actually I cheated, the flowers were already formed and glued to another sheer ribbon, so I peeled them off carefully and sewed them to another sheer ribbon, in a clump of 5.

Boutonniere - The other 3 I wired and wrapped with floral tape, then grouped and tied the tiny ribbon bow around.

Here is a photo of them in action Smiley

Made these for DS and his GF for the prom today. I think they turned out well. Hope she appreciates the work, not sure if she'll love them or not. Enjoy!

Ribbon, thread, wire and floral tape.

Ooh I love it! I'm a frog collector so it would be perfectly welcome in my HOME or office!
39  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: what to do with those plastic lemonade cannisters (with pictures) on: April 12, 2009 08:15:38 AM

I save them as well. IF I make cookies just small enough, I can fit a dozen in there! Smiley I sometimes make them for the troops in Iraq/Afghanistan, even if they break, then can shake the crumbs right outta the tubes into their mouths Smiley
