1  Random Assortment of Photos [Img heavy] in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Xenobia on: October 22, 2008 02:01:18 PM
So I'm not really a photographer but I finally got pictures off my camera and onto my computer and I thought a couple were pretty good and I wanted to share. Please let me know what you think of them, honestly. And if you know what any of the flowers are please let me know!

^This one is a close up of the flowers on the bush in the first picture.

2  Denim Shopping Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Xenobia on: February 16, 2008 12:27:58 PM
So we have like six store bought reusable bags but whenever we go shopping that's never enough. Since I had some free time today I decided to make another reusable bag and use up some denim fabric that I've had forever. I attempted to do a tree stencil and it came out alright considering the way I did it. I'm pretty happy with the bag over all, it's nice and sturdy, and has plenty of room for food stuffs.

My tree looks a little like it's melting. Oh well. Now I know how not to do a stencil.

3  My apron, the first project I'm proud of! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Xenobia on: September 04, 2007 06:36:50 AM
This year I'm taking a ceramics class so I decided I needed an apron. Not to mention I do a lot of baking and I'm a very messy/clumsy person in the kitchen. So I sat down yesterday and made this.

It's a dark navy blue, with a flowery, light blue strap. I've yet to master the art of taking picture of yourself so I don't have one of it on me. But here it is stretched out on the floor. It actually looks really good on me, I can't wait to use it!

I made it based off a pattern I found on about.com (I'll find the link if anyone wants it). I altered it a bit though because I'm a small person. I was going to add pockets but then I figured that they'd just end up getting filled with flour or something after I spilled stuff all over the place.

I also have a request. For the strap I used some of this fabric I found at Walmart. They only had a yard left of it and it was in the clearance section. I really, really like it and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find some. The selvage edge has Hamil Textiles LTD PATT #27682 written on it and that's about all I know. Here is a picture of it.

If you can find some please tell me where you found it. I'd really like more of this so I can make something out of it.

And before I go, here's a picture of my dog because she was my support during the construction of this. And because she looks so gosh darned cute. I almost had her modeling the apron but she wasn't too keen on me putting it on her. Oh well.

Thanks for looking!

4  Stuff found under my bed in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Xenobia on: August 22, 2007 08:29:08 AM
I was cleaning my room out a few days ago and I found like four little boxes of beads and else where (i.e. deep under my bed) I found some wire). So as I wasn't feeling so hot yesterday I stayed in bed and made bracelets. One of them isn't too interesting but the green one I really like. I still have to go out and buy clasps for them but it could be a while before I get to the craft store and by the time that happens the camera will most likely be broken again. So here they are, nothing special but I was amazed that I was able to do anything considering how crappy I felt yesterday. Sorry the pictures are a little blurry.

A close up, I really like this one.

5  First attempt at stencilling in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Xenobia on: August 22, 2007 08:22:34 AM
Hello everyone. This is the first project I've actually posted here on Craftster. You guys all seemed so nice and I love showing off so I figured I'd put up some pictures of a shirt I made about a month ago. I just took a pumpkin pattern and used that as my stencil. Then I added my own text, set everything up and went to work. I used black spray paint on a red tee because I'm too poor and cheap to buy fabric paint.

I've had to wash it like five times to get the spray paint smell out and now I can finally wear it, yay! Pardon the pictures, my camera hates me. *cries*

And this one... It looks a whole lot better in person. This pictures don't do it justice, like I said. My chest kinda distorted it in this one, lol.

So that's it. What do you think?
