11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Brokenhearted first afghan on: July 29, 2009 09:59:35 AM
First of all, huge hugs to you. Huge, huge hugs.

Regardless of the situation surrounding it, this is your first afghan, and it is absolutely beautiful. It is a massive achievement that completely deserves your pride. The fact that you made it out of love is also something to be proud of. I hope that giving this afghan to people who dearly need it, and being brave enough to share your story with us, is the first step out of this dark place for you. I have so much respect for you, for all of this, and I hope that we are all able to lift you up and help you see the road ahead.

God bless you,

That is so cute! That's my favorite shape for a bib, it is practical and pretty at the same time. Is this from a pattern or original? I'd love to know where you got the pattern.

These are GREAT! I love the pointy top, and the braids/tassels! Those are going to sell like hot cakes.

Best of luck!
14  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Re: Anyone finished with FrouFrou? on: July 22, 2009 03:55:01 PM
I've been looking on Ravelry about it, and almost everything I read involved fit problems and lots of frogging. Most people who made it gave it away or frogged it. I was actually planning on making it, but I don't think I will now. I'm sorry to be a bearer of bad news.

15  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: Amigurumi Peacock Attempt--Suggestions Needed on: July 22, 2009 02:37:54 PM
If I were going to make a peacock, I would plant pipe cleaners in his head, then crochet around them and them work the small feather motif into the top. Depending on how long you need the feather stalks to be, you could bend the pipe cleaners in half, then feed them through to make a v with both ends sticking up, then stitch them down to anchor them. That's probably what I would do. If not pipe cleaners, then perhaps a soft jewelry type wire crocheted over with thread, and then the motif at the top. That might work better, because you could twist the wire around the stitches at the head to anchor it.

I hope this was helpful! Good luck, and I can't wait to see your finished product!

EDIT: Oh, and if I can be of any help, or if something that I said was unclear, please message me and I can explain further!
