1  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: quickie dress that anybody can make on: June 26, 2008 01:11:16 PM
I have been stalking this thread for about a year and I finally got around to making mine!  Pay no attention to the stupid looks on my face and the fact that I am wearing socks!  I also threw the designs together in about 30 seconds!  Thanks Rostitchery and everyone on here!

So, mine is finally done!
I posted some pre-construction pictures earlier but I finally have it all together and I think it looks pretty good.  I had some major problems with the zipper but I kind of figured it out Smiley   There are other flaws but I am not too worried about them - it's just a costume!  Here are some pics!

So, my Alice in Wonderland costume was going great.. until it was time to put it all together.

The sleeves are HUGE.. like gawdy and ugly huge, I don't know what to do about them.  The bodice of the dress has a lining and it's all bunched up at the neckline. It is soo not flattering, the darts I made are pretty much useless. I am so frustrated right now!

Any suggestions on what to do with the sleeves?  They go down to almost my elbows and are really poofy due to gathering (think.. Deb from Napoleon Dynamite big sleeves) So I am having trouble just making them shorter and not too goofy looking.  AHH HELP!
