11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / stumpwork sparrow on: March 25, 2012 02:24:55 PM

I made this for my partner in the Anything Goes Needlework Swap because she loves sparrows. It was my first attempt at stumpwork and I like how it turned out. I don't have a photo of it after ironing and mounted in the flexiframe I finished it in but this photo does show the finished stitching, I left the background plain because I wanted it to look like branches against the sky- not sure whether that worked or not.
There is a close up on my blog if anyone is interested.
12  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / little bird on: March 15, 2012 10:21:24 AM
This is for a swap organised by http://wildolive.blogspot.com/

I made this badge as little extra- it's very much in the style of Mollie from Wild Olive (shhhhh but I think I prefer this to my actual hoop it is just so cute!)

13  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / rabbit on: March 15, 2012 10:13:49 AM

I used a vintage transfer for this. It's only about 2.5 inches tall - I love these cute little flexi-hoops!
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / lavender sachet swap on: March 05, 2012 11:03:22 AM
Anyone interested in a scented sachet swap? I'm thinking drawer or hanging sachets embellished or embroidered. Should be quick and easy  Smiley
15  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / plague doctor on: February 25, 2012 12:14:05 PM

Glow-in-the-dark floss on gauze fabric. I like the sketchiness of working on a see through fabric and the loose ends hanging down. It was really quick to do- I am definitely going to use this technique again. It is quite 'ghostly' and hard to see so i had to photograph it against the black but in real life it looks best against a window or white wall.

17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / yellow barred moth on: February 25, 2012 11:47:59 AM

a little moth embroidery hoop I did. I filled the wings in then layered the detail over the top. I was trying to make it look as lifelike as possible.
18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / flash gordon fan art on: February 13, 2012 01:27:23 AM

I love Brian Blessed lots and lots. This was so much fun to do - his beard is all in french knots the rest is satin stitch, split stitch and a bit of long and short. I used an ink stamp to add the lettering (and yes I wanted the letters to be a bit wonky)
For once I'm actually pretty pleased with the finished piece  Cheesy
