21  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Crafting For Homeless Ferrets? on: November 03, 2008 06:37:13 PM
That's fantastic that you want to help homeless ferrets! I'm sure the ferret shelter near you would more than appreciate donations. I know the one here in Washington is always open to accepting blankets and bedding as well as other things (but crafting is the most fun form of helping!).

I'm sorry that the first two links aren't working. I'll see if I can figure something out for them because I was sure I checked to make sure they work! (But hey, that's the internet for you!)

What I forgot to state was that if anyone is interested in helping the shelter over in this area (let's say you live in Washington State or Oregon and want to help, we could always work something out where you send the donations and I could always pay for shipping or something along those lines.)

Thanks everyone!
22  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Crafting For Homeless Ferrets? on: November 02, 2008 07:57:49 AM
I recently started volunteering at Washington Ferret Rescue and Shelter. As you know, the majority of shelters run soley off of love, dedication, and donations. I've decided to start crafting bedding and toys for the shelter either for them to use for the ferrets in their care or to sell as all monetary donations go toward running the shelter and caring for the needs of the animals such as food, litter, and medical needs.

If anyone would like to join me in this plight, that would be fantastic! Below are some links to the types of bedding ferrets use and love. Some of them are patterns and how-to's. If you have a problem accessing them, please let me know:

Also, if anyone has the energy in them to make matching bedding sets that would also be great. I will be putting several together myself in order to sell as newbie packs to those adopting ferrets from the shelter. (Note: matching bedding sets typically include a combination of a sleep tube, a cube, a blanket, a sleep sack, or cuddle cup in matching fabrics.)

If anyone is interested in joining me, please feel free to PM me. Thank you for reading! I'm off to the fabric store!

That is the best and most creative article of clothing I've ever seen. Most of the time, when people go for clothes made of unusual things, they're great on paper, but look terrible when it comes to the execution. You are fantastically amazing!!!

You could paint your belly like a globe and dress up like Atlas...
29  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: tired of the sexy-everything costumes? on: October 21, 2008 09:40:14 PM
I shamefully almost fell victim to this horrible trend due to sheer consumer laziness, but then I saw the prices and said, "FORGET THAT!!!!" The lack of everyone's holiday spirit had gotten me down and then I thought that I must revive the spirit even if I go it alone in this town so I've opted to make my own marie antoinette costume and the only sexy thing about it will be the amount of wrist and ankle I show or how much I flirt using my fan.
