1  Anthropologie-inspired, artsy, boho necklace in Beads: Completed Projects by auzzi on: August 17, 2006 01:35:25 PM
This necklace was inspired by an anthropologie necklace I saw in an issue of Beadstyle. Here is my rendition of the artsy, bohemian look. The beads are from all sorts of places- old necklaces, Michaels, and other bead stores, recycled beads, and most importantly, seemingly "wrecked" beads... they give a nice earthy feel to the piece. They are strung on gold wire and then there is a blue silk ribbon tied to the wire... the ribbon acts as the clasp- all I do is adjust the length and tie a bow.

2  Cluster jewelry, chandelier&drop earrings and 3 necklaces... img heavy in Beads: Completed Projects by auzzi on: August 14, 2006 08:33:45 AM
Some recent jewelry I have made:
Cluster bracelet on chain and matching earrings:

Chandelier earrings, drop earrings (jump ring chain and swarovski crystal briolettes) and a pearl drop with filigree bead cap and chain:

illusion necklace with freshwater pearls on clear transite using crimps to keep pearls "floating":

My take on the goth-chic look for fall. Purple glass bicones, filigree bead caps, freshwater pearls and glass beads with an oil slick- like finish:

Aegean sea necklace (got the name from the colour of the ribbon). Necklace made with big blue wooden beads and sea foam green dupioni silk ribbon. I got the idea for this necklace from an issue of Beadstyle:

3  Lapi lazuli and filigree silver necklace in Beads: Completed Projects by auzzi on: August 13, 2006 03:37:20 PM
I'm trying to use up all those beads and jewelry making materials that tend to accumulate in one's bead box... you know those beads you buy because you like them but don't have a project for them in mind when you buy them? I figure if I use up what I have now, then I can go on a big shopping trip and stock up on new stuff. Anyway, this necklace is one of the recent pieces I've made using odds and end beads and findings I had laying around. I used light blue crochet beads from Michaels, lapi lazuli beads from an old necklace, delicate silver filigree bead caps and large silver bead caps from a really old necklace of my mom's, with a few plain old glass beads thrown in for good measure. They are strung randomly on wire and attached to a bit of chain that I took from yet another old necklace that I was simply bored with. I was going for a utilitarian yet feminine, military-inspired look. Comments appreciated! Thanks for looking.
