1  Little bowl/basket made from recycled materials in Crochet: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: January 25, 2009 10:18:46 AM
I just started making these, out of discarded clothing--I recycle the material and then crochet it into things.  I like the consistency of them, they have some thickness to them.

This one is the first one I made, now I'm into more colorful ones, I think the colorful ones are nicer looking, but this one is cute too I think--kind of in a baby way... Smiley Thanks for looking!

2  Somewhere between a necklace and a scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: October 20, 2008 11:21:05 AM
I got into a kick of making these now, they are somewhere between a necklace and a scarf--more necklace I think but they're crochet so they don't fit neatly into that category.

Any thoughts? Does it seem wearable to you? Thanks. Smiley

3  Little crochet purse, lime green mostly with some blue, white, pink in Crochet: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: April 06, 2008 09:06:09 AM
I sort of like how it turned out, the color combo didn't look the same as I was working the purse as it did when I looked at the balls of thread when I was picking the colors so I thought it wouldn't turn out to my liking, but in the end I think it turned out pretty cute, and cute is good...  Smiley  Cute works for me anyway... Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.

4  Little Mystery Machine purse, homage to Scooby Doo... in Crochet: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: March 11, 2008 04:38:22 PM
I saw on here a few months ago a blanket that someone made inspired by the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo, blue and green with big orange flowers. I thought it was a cool idea, so I did my own version as a little purse.

What do you think? Gotta love Scoob. And Shaggy too.

5  Aqua/lime and white purse with fuchsia ribbon cinch handle in Crochet: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: February 24, 2008 06:43:16 AM
I finished this a while ago and only just got around to the ribbon, which seems like a small part of the whole but for some reason a major hangup!...
This is my own design, if you want to call it design--really just off the top of my head.  Smiley  I got the color combination idea from a greeting card.
Thanks for looking.

6  Quilt from discarded fabric store samples in Quilting: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: February 16, 2008 04:08:03 PM
I found some discarded fabric sample books a while ago and they were almost too great to know what to do with--all these matching fabrics in various shades and patterns. Finally, my mother quilted them into a blanket, and I think it turned out great. She did it all by hand, not with a machine.

She's not used to being featured on the internet, so this is a new experience...

7  Little teeny tiny purple are red purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by italianchildhood on: February 11, 2008 05:30:18 PM
I made this little teeny tiny purse for my sister--as a bit of a gag gift--out of really just a few strands of leftover thread. It measures some 2-3 inches across.

I kind of liked the fact that it went so quick!... Might have to make more...

8  "Watermelon" (pink and green) cinch purse in Crochet: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: December 16, 2007 01:58:27 PM
I have been making little crochet purses, and this one is a little bigger, it's about 8 inches across, and I think it has pretty colors, plus a cinch close with a grosgrain ribbon that is also the handles.

I just work it all the way around--round and round... Smiley

Thanks for looking!

9  Little cardboard Xmas tree in Winter Holidays by italianchildhood on: December 09, 2007 10:45:23 AM
My son and my mother made this little cardboard tree as one of their "activities" together. It's a bit rustic but they had a nice time with it--my son was really into it--and I plan to save it.

10  Bright pink scarf worked diagonally in Knitting: Completed Projects by italianchildhood on: November 04, 2007 09:02:35 AM
I never did this before, work diagonally, but I think it turned out nice, and I tried to give it some texture with the stitching I used. The stitching is the same on both sides, front and back so to speak.
