1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Sheldon the Turtle on: October 14, 2007 08:46:12 PM

I finally finished my first Sheldon, aka Turtle!  He's gigantic, but oh so cute!  I think his blue hue makes him rather fetching, if I do say so myself:)  Hurray for knit toys!

Yarn: Knit Picks Shine [60% pima cotton, 40% modal; 110 yds/ 101 m per 50g skein]; color: 23621 Sky; 1 skein - and - Knit Picks Shine [60% pima cotton, 40% modal; 110 yds/ 101 m per 50g skein]; color: 23619 Turquoise; less than 1 skein

Care: machine wash cold, tumble dry low

Needles: US 4 / 3.50 mm double-points, US 4 / 3.50 mm straight

Pattern: Ruth Homrighaus

Modifications: I used more MC than CC with the harness so I could finally purge it from my stash! I also didn't have safety eyes, so I embroidered them on using embroidery floss in navy blue.

Date Begun: October 4, 2007

Date Completed: October 13, 2007
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Sweet Sweater with Frill on: October 04, 2007 10:13:07 AM
I've finally finished my first sweater with sleeves!  It is from Rowan's #26 Magazine.

I love the ruffled edges, and the length and diameter of the arms.  Usually arms are either too short on me, or they cut off my circulation:)  Anyway here are the specs for this project:

Yarn: Sandnes Uldvarefabrik AS Smart Superwash [100% Wool; 108 yds/99 m per 50g skein]; color: 1088 Charcoal; 7 skeins

Care: machine wash cold on gentle cycle, dry flat

Needles: US 6 /4 mm straight

Pattern: Rowan Magazine #26

Date Begun: several years ago

Date Completed: October 4, 2007

Modifications: Because I could not make sense of the making up section of the patter, and all the pictures of this version had a scarf around the neck (!), I made up my own neck pattern. It's basically 6 rows of garter stitch worked in the round as alternating knit and purl rounds.

My pictures always come out so big on this site:)
