21  My first ribbon necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by crassy_mcnasty on: March 08, 2011 02:05:13 PM
I made this for a swap (don't worry the receiver already got it!).  This is the first ribbon necklace I've done, mainly because she was allergic to nickel and I wasn't sure which of my metal parts might be nickel.  I wish I had some extra beads, I'd make myself one too.

All done, my package has been packed and shipped!  I will send the DC# shortly.

kuraikatara, we're most critical of our own work- I'm sure your stuff is awesome! Smiley

Yesterday, I had some extra time, so I made those cat toys:

25  from boring underwear to va va voom! super easy! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by crassy_mcnasty on: February 05, 2011 06:21:46 PM
I saw similar undies at a dept. store and they were cute but way out of my budget for a pair of underwear!  So I got some plain black boyshorts at target and sewed a few pieces of lace trim on them.  Super easy and my husband loves them.  They took about 10 minutes to make and about $8 total materials to make 2.

Cute!  My cats are fascinated when I work, especially with yarn, chain and beads.  They find the beads I drop right away too- although it's not always easy to get them back.   Here's my twin kittehs:

27  My first bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by crassy_mcnasty on: January 19, 2010 12:06:14 PM
I have been doing very basic sewing (hemming pants and simple curtains), and I tried to make a bag once, but it came out horrible, so I stuck to the simple.  But then I saw this fruit fabric and knew it would be perfect for a lunch bag- especially because my new year's resolution is to pack my lunches for work more often (for both economical and weight-loss reasons.)  I had to make the lining longer to fold over since I didn't have too much of the fruit print (it was cheap in a scrap sale.)

So here it is, my very first lunch bag (I slightly modified instructions from the tote design in this book: http://www.makeworkshop.com/content/sewbook/sewbook.html to make it lunch size and fold the lining over.)  I'm very proud of it and inspired to make more things.  The book makes it really easy, btw!
