1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / How can I make this? (hair clip) on: May 01, 2010 06:55:30 PM

I saw this hair clippie on the Sephora website and thought I could probably make that instead of paying $30 for it. Does it look like it would be possible to make that? What would I need?

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / double rainbow after rain on: January 29, 2009 10:59:53 AM
I'm by no means a professional photographer, and just used a digital camera, nothing fancy, but I thought this was a pretty picture. It is a double rainbow after the monsoon in Arizona. It was taken in November from my backyard.

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Name wall hanging on: August 27, 2008 08:50:25 AM
My friend, and roommate-to-behad her birthday a few days ago. Last year, her dorm room walls were pretty empty so I decided to make her something to decorate them with. I used cardboard, acrylic paints and random stickers and such. Her name is Linyu.

Thanks for looking!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my first skirt! on: August 19, 2008 06:47:27 PM
So the lovely Penguino sent me some wonderfully soft, pink fabric and I knew it was just dying to be made into a skirt. This is the first article of clothing I have made without the help of my mom. I hand stitched the whole thing, including the heart applique. SOrry the picture sucks, my brother messed around with my camera settings Roll Eyes

thanks for looking!

I made a butterfly for my friend's birthday. Originaly it was supposeto be a scarf but I ran out yarn (the body portion is knitted) so I sewed it up into a tibe and made a butterfly! The wings are felt. Here she is:

hope you like it and thanks for looking!
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Melting crayons! on: July 31, 2008 03:08:36 PM
So I have a bunch of broken crayons that aren't of much use to me and I finally decided to try melting them to form a new one! Since I live in the desert that is Arizona, I didn't have to use an oven. Rather, I just put the broken bits into a paper cup and left it out in the 115 degree weather for less than 2 hours. Here is the result:

I think I'll make a bunch more of these in different colors for my cousin!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Thank you gift for an awesome boss on: July 16, 2008 11:01:45 AM
My boss at my current job is absolutely awesome in so many ways. Sadly, my job is going to end soon because I work at a kids summer camp and it's only 8 weeks long. This is my first job and I was soo grateful that she picked me for it because I had a blast working there. I want to give her a thank you gift for hiring me and giving my such a fun job. My boss is in her late 50's, but she totally doesn't look it. She wears amazing outfits, loves skirts and dresses in bright colors, always has perfect jewellery and shoes to match. Oh and I work at an art camp so she is obviously very talented and creative. Any ideas for a gift I could make her would be appreciated!! Thanks!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Paper bead necklace on: July 06, 2008 07:01:42 PM
After seeing MissVan722's post and awesome tute about paper beads, I decided to make some of my own using the Sunday comics. I made it for a friend that loves all things recycled. I def. plan on making more of these, the possibilities are endless!

Here's an action shot, excuse the messy hair

thanks for the tute MissVan!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Transformer's PJ's for my brother on: June 02, 2008 07:31:32 PM
My mom actually made the shorts, no pattern she just traced a pair of his shorts onto newspaper and went from there. Then I thought it wouldn't be complete without a matching tshirt so I used one of my old ones and attached a circle cutout of the same fabric. They're not perfect but he likes them. I couldn't get an action shot of him with them on because he wasn't in the mood to have his picture taken... Roll Eyes

Hello! I saw a coupon from Costco for $35 off a Singer 66 stitch electronic sewing machine. I tried finding more info online, including the Costco website and the Singer website and googled it but I can't find any info about it. Has anyone used this before or have any info about it?
