1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / My name is Commander Shepard.... on: October 31, 2011 10:43:16 AM
My niece and nephew were excited about showing these off

Commander Shepards (Male and Female version) from Bioware's Mass Effect video game series

Costume made from Rubber Floor mats (EVA Foam), Velcro, and elastic.
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Two new Sackboys on: May 30, 2010 10:46:13 PM
These were fun to make:

From a retro video game called Sparkster or Rocket Knight - a flying opposum returns to the next gen consoles in a new adventure. Created this for my co-worker

Another video game character realized as a Sackboy
Big Boss who graced us through now 4 titles in the Metal Gear Solid series. This one is based on the new look from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Big Boss Sackboy - Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on: May 30, 2010 10:19:52 PM
In honor of the the newest title for one of the greatest Video Game series of all time.

This one was fun to create because, I had to work in scale.

Unless I planned on buy 100 yards of 1/8th inch webbing for the harness he wears, I had to find a suitable substitute, in the form of Olive Drab 1/8th inch Cross grain ribbon. Also, hooking the hair elements as well as beard and mustache was time consuming

4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Rocket Knight Doll (Some Opossum's Play Dead - This one Goes Ballistic) on: May 13, 2010 04:15:00 PM
I haven't posted anything new in awhile, so I thought I'd share this little creation.

Sparkster from Rocket Knight

Created for my co-worker.

The fun part was actually crocheting up his Jet Pack (for which, I dumbly forgot to take a picture of).

My previous Rocket Knight (Sparkster) doll
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Blood and Tears: Sparkster Plushie on: December 17, 2009 09:00:34 PM
A friend of mines wanted to have a Sparkster doll created, so after much wrangling with a pattern, I came up with this little cutie.

Sparkster is from an old 90's Video game called Rocket Knight Adventures, which came out for the Sega Genesis system. A crazy opposum who doesn't play dead.

The Blood part? I sliced a finger open when I was cutting a hole for the eyes and had to get 10 stitches.

But my friend adores him.
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / PATA-PATA-PATAPON Sackboy on: May 19, 2009 11:49:35 PM

Did this for a co-worker who's birthday is coming up. She loves Patapon, and liked the other Sackboys that I've made for others. When Little Big Planet came out with the Patapon costumes for Sackboy, well, I just had to make it. Patapon is for the Sony PSP and Little Big Planet can be found for the Playstation 3

Im so glad that this doll only had two colors. Didn't take long to make. I hope she likes it.

7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Prince Lotor Sackboy on: May 11, 2009 11:00:47 PM
Voltron Defender of the Universe, a 1980's cartoon series celebrates its 25th Anniversary this year, so I created this Prince Lotor Sackboy version as a means to celebrate my favorite tv series of all time and to honor the baddest bad ass of baddies to ever grace tv screens across the nation. Im just waiting on some embellishments to dry (the fringe for his collar and laser sword) so he is near completion.

More on Prince Lotor can be found here:

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Custom Sackboy - a MishMash on: April 29, 2009 09:46:46 PM
This was done for the friend, whom I made the Pyramid Head Sackboy for. This will be given to a friend of his for his birthday.

Took a while since I had trouble figuring out how to do a mustache, but it worked out in the end. This was fun to do, since the whole comedic thing about it, is that he is carrying the every famous frying pan (if you haven't played the game, this "weapon" is just choice). I searched every single 99cent store near me to find the "perfect" frying pan, in the size I needed. Didn't really want to sculpt one (as my clay was not cooperating with me). Also, 99 cent stores sells great cheap sunglasses that you can break apart.

Sackboy is wearing a crocheted Motorcycle Helmet (with stripe), Sunglasses, red poncho (I hand drew in the design), and a light blue bow-tie.

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Half Egg Shape Pattern on: April 27, 2009 08:48:27 PM
hi all, im looking for  instruction on how to do a "half" egg shape pattern (flat). Im doing a moustache for a doll Im making and its more shaped like two "half" egg shapes attached together at the fat end

If anyone can provide a pattern or a link to one, it will be GREATLY appreciated.
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle - Leonardo Sackboy on: March 04, 2009 12:01:30 AM
This was made for a friend, but I plan to do all four (will make another Leonardo for that collecton).

The hardest part of making him was doing the turtle shell, but figured it out based on the same pattern I'm using for the body.

Hope you all like it.
